c2eMusic Soulful Deep House

This September mix is from the last Pressure Radio show before I headed over to Spain to join the Pressure and Vocal Booth family in the sun.
It's one of the deepest mixes I've done in a while, really not a lot of soulful or vocal tracks in here. It does flow well, but doesn't have as broad a sound as usual. The latter half features some of the tracks I'll be selecting from for my set in the Pressure Cooker on the Saturday. Big thank you to those of you at VBW that came
along for a boogie to what was a very rare appearance behind the decks over in Europe.
The set was broadcast live from the Pressure Cooker via Pressure Radio. All off the Pressure Cooker sets were streamed live and will soon be available as podcasts on the VBW website and app.
It was an incredible week at VBW. Andy Ward and the team do an amazing job to create a very unique week long party. If you ever get the chance I thoroughly recommend. Met so many cool people that will be friends for a long time.
Also had the re-launch night for Underground Jack at Goodbar in Sydney on the day I got back from Spain. All DJs were on point (even me :)) and it was great to see that we didn't know any of the crowd for the last hour. All a younger crowd, that really got into it. There's hope yet!

Before anyone writes in - I know the accapella drop on the last track is a dogs breakfast. I had planned to fix up and will do at some point, but for now you can enjoy the other 1hr 55mins of music.

It's been a long time since we had a two volume release for a monthly podcast however here we are. This one was recorded on Pressure Radio on 16th August.
There are a good number of tracks from the Sunce Sessions mix, however the first part contains a load of quality new stuff which gives the mix a very different feel at the start.
Kudos again to Conrad Bool who gave me heads up on a couple of little beauties - 'Alva - The Wall' and 'Black Loops - French Affair' and the amazing 'Orange Tree Edits'. Unfortunately there was a blip in the recording which has cut a small chunk of Orange Tree Edits out :(. We'll get em next time!
Would be interested to know which of the two August mixes you prefer the most - please leave a comment to let me know.

I'm off to Vocal Booth Weekender in September this year, it will be my first time and I'm so excited to get to meet the other Pressure Radio DJs. Big thanks to Andy Ward for allowing me to play at such short notice. Fo those of you going I'll be playing in the Pressure Cooker on Saturday afternoon. If you've been listening to c2eMusic over the years and you're at VBW please come say hi, I'd love to finally meet you guys after all this time.

Finally it gives me great pleasure to announce that Underground Jack is back. Following a year off trying to secure the right venue we've come up trumps with Goodbar on Oxford St - it's even outside the lockout zone! First night is September 21st, the day I get back from VBW. I'll be joined by founder DJ Nycks and my HouseNation.live partner in crime Sydney's very own Karl Prinzen. We are going to put the Void 1 sound system to good use to bring you a sound unlike anything else you'll hear in Sydney. Looking to make this a bi-monthly event, as we aren't getting any younger. Hope you can come down to support the opening night.

August podcasts are extra special these days as they follow on from a July that sees me and thousands of others soaking up the magic that is Suncebeat in beautiful Croatia. I always come back buzzing with tunes I have to find, and so they invariably end up in the August podcast. It's like a little time capsule that invokes special memories every time you listen.
Always great catching up with people from all over the world both old and new. This year I met so many cool people from all over - Darren from Adelaide, Courtney from Atlanta, Francesca from DC, The Durham massive :) , Terri, Liyana and Triphina from London, Paulette from Nottingham, Pal Sorli from Norway and my Bajan brother from another Wayne and his partner Martine. This mix is for you guys and the good times had on the boat parties.
Musically the mix starts off on a warm deep tip with a couple of soulful drops along with the odd classic. Things toughen up with a mix of tunes that resonated with me at Suncebeat. The incredible 'Starz' dropped by Neil Pierce, 'Photon' played by Grant Nelson on the picnic boat, 'Pick Up' dropped by Karizma at Barbarellas and 'Revolution' and 'Someday' played by just about everyone!
As homage to those that couldn't make it this year we have 'Blues For You' for DC Wood from DC. Look forward to catching up next year instead.
I danced soooo much at Sunce this year and hopefully you will too listening to this mix.
A big shout goes to Caz B who reached out just after getting back from Sunce. it's so cool to meet people who feel the music as much as I do, such a shame we didn't meet at Sunce.
Lastly I have to thank Conrad Bool, he put me on to a few of the tracks in this mix. His musical knowledge is stuff of legend and he's a top bloke to boot. Snores like a Yeti but we won't hold that against him.
Credit for the cover goes to Foto Genix. The man with the cam.

This mix was recorded on my eldest son Bailey's birthday live on Pressure Radio. There was no real intention for it be become a podcast. However I've been listening to it ever since, and I like it. The flow isn't right as I'd only got hold of half the tracks an hour earlier. That doesn't stop this being a nice mix to get into though as the tracks themselves are great little movers.

Also since it's been a while since the last official podcast and with me now doing fortnightly radio shows it's best to get something out or you'll all think I've been kidnapped by aliens, or worse - EDM clubbers.

This mix has some serious teeth towards the end courtesy of some excellent work from Adesse Versions and Nachtbraker - wallop!

Off to Suncebeat next month in Croatia. Went last year and had a great time. Hopefully see some of you there.
If you do see me please come over and say hi. Would love to meet you guys.

Hopefully I get to hear some quality new stuff that I can bring back for another Sunce special mix.

This is the audio recording of the live Facebook stream from HouseNation.Live on 4th June. It was an impromptu Subliminal Records set. We both decided to play three tracks each back to back.

We played across three of the Subliminal sub labels - including Bambossa and Sondos. We ha d agreat laugh as it's rare to get to play vinyl these days and so it was a real trip down memory lane in more ways than one.

Catch the show live on HouseNation.Live page on facebook every other Monday (4th June, 18th June....)

This was the first and as it turned out only mix done in March. It happened right at the start of the month and was going to be a promo for a later March podcast. However several things happened during March that scuppered any best laid plans. Firstly we sold our house so everything was boxed up for the removalists. Once in the new house our ISP took four weeks to get us up and running. In the middle of all that we went to Thailand for a holiday for two weeks.
I've been listening to this mix ever since and whilst not perfect it has some great tunes and so is worthy of a share with you guys.
Mix opens with a track I heard on the recent Louie Vega session on Giles Petersons Worldwide FM. It doesn't really fit with the mix, but I don't care as I love it.
The rest of the mix is a combination of new tunes in March and leftovers from October last year. As a result both Crackazat and Adesse Versions dominate, but since they are both in such a rich vein of form that's a great thing.
Despite starting nice and chilled don't be fooled into a false sense of security - this mix buries it's foot to the floor midway through and doesn't let up.
I'm back on Pressure Radio every other Thursday (19th April onwards) and HouseNation.Live streaming on FB every other Monday starting 23rd April. Both start at 9pm Sydney time - 12pm UK. Hope you can catch me live on one of those and say hi, it's always appreciated.

Finally a big shout out to everyone listening in South Africa, I don't give you guys enough shouts so I apologise. I do appreciate when you reach out with stories of your friends all listening and looking forward to mixes.

This months marks 10 years on Podomatic! Could never have imagined I'd still be doing this when I first started posting mixes all that time ago. Huge thank you to everyone that has supported me over those 10 years. I still remember being blown away when the first people out there started to get in touch to say how much they loved the mixes. I am so proud of the global family that has grown with a shared loved of this sound.

Last podcast was Nov 17 so we've missed the last two months. Couldn't find time in the run up to Xmas to get a December mix out, which is a shame as there are some amazing tracks begging to be used.
As for this month it's a case of first time lucky. Tracks we're purchased on the day, less than an hour before the show so no time for prep.
It made for an exciting show for me as you don't know how it's gonna sound at all.
Luckily for me the flow was pretty good and there is a real sense of transition too to give the mix a direction.
First few tracks are lush soulful warm bass numbers, a mix of instrumentals and vocals. Next up we get a taste of some underground garage house. The last transition is to the new energy infused deep disco sounds coming out of Europe. The likes of Re-Tide, Moon Rocket, Funkatron - the Cut Rec label.
Mix ends with a classic - inspired after listening to an incredible podcast. Over five and a half hours of Louie Vega, Giles Peterson, Mark King (Level 42), Bluey from Incognito the awesome Jocelyn Brown and future star Zara McFarlane! If you're a serious house head their stories will make the hairs on your neck stand up. A rare gathering of true legends in their own right. Check out the Worldwide FM show on here.

This November podcast was unexpected. It's a recording of the Pressure Radio show from 9th November. I had bought a handful of new tunes that evening causing the show to start 30 minutes late, but it was worth it as it turned out.
It's a chunkier start than I expected - none of this was planned and I didn't really know what the new tracks sounded like beyond the clips you hear on Traxsource. Towards the end of the mix a few older gems are brought in to keep the intensity going.
Initially this was just another mix, but having listened to it a couple of times I think it's only fair to share with you guys, so here it is.
There may be another mix in November based on the original set of tracks I had in mind, but no promises.
Looking forward to starting a new regular event in Sydney at The Flinders with HouseNation.Live on Dec 8th - keep your eyes peeled for more details.
Remember I'm live on FB with HouseNation.Live every other Monday (20th Nov) as well as Pressure Radio every Thursday.

Had this mix ready for a few weeks but have been very busy so no time to publish. The mix shares a few tracks with the "Midwinter Madness" mix but contains a handful of newer tracks. Opens with a killer classic from 1992 - TC 1992 with "The Funk Is Back".
I have had to take the music room down as I'm selling the house so struggling to find time at the moment, however there are still some radio shows and FB streams going ahead.
Also looking to get involved in a new night here in Sydney to help breath some much needed life into a very stagnant city. The powers that be sure did a job this time - hopefully there are enough people out there that want to make a difference to help get it back on it's feet again.
A reminder you can catch me live every Thursday on PressureRadio - 10am to 12pm UK, 9pm to 11pm Sydney/Melbourne.

As the title suggests this is all things '08.  The mix was recorded on Pressure Radio on September 21st 2017.  I did a "Best Of 2008" mix in.....2008, but that was through the ears of my mate Burnsie who was big on his Yass and Spen at the time.  I had my own favourites but never got round to recording it, so here we are.  The mix starts off deep and stays there for a while.  Marc Evans introduces a different vibe before we switch again for some "Afro Sounds" waaaay before Afro House was a "thing".  We see things out with Spen, who was as prolific back then as he is now, as are many of the artists and producers in this mix.  It's a hallmark of the quality your about to hear.
Remember to join me live every other week on Mondays (9 to 11pm Sydney) on FB with HouseNation.live.  Simply go to the HouseNation.live page on FB and you can see and hear the live show - yep that's right I'll be doing a live video stream from c2e towers.  I am still continuing to do my weekly c2eMusic show on Pressure Radio every Thursday (9-11pm Sydney) (12pm-2pm UK during Summer, 10am-12pm Winter).  Listen to the player or visit the chatroom to say hi.
