c2eMusic Soulful Deep House

Great show this week - the week had flown by and no time or thought had gone into any themes or ideas as to what to play. Then at lunchtime I decided to have a quick look on Traxsource, not expecting to achieve much. To my surprise it was a very fruitful session and after just 45 minutes I had a decent looking basket.
Tracks were purchased and downloaded around tea time, and in the hour leading up to the show I was only getting a first decent listen to them, but again only snippets.
It made for an exciting show for me as I had heard enough to know it was going to be tasty.
Then midway through the show Wally Walton another Pressure resident and one half of Soulfunktion jumped in the chatroom. He reminded me of a track he had shared earlier in the week, so I played it.  As a result he sent another couple of tracks to me that he and Brian "Keys" Tharme had produced. Next thing you know Brian is in the chatroom too, so I played another of their new tracks "Underground Language".
All up the show went much better than I could have ever imagined given all tracks were practically unknown to me a mere 6 hours previous.
Hope you enjoy the end result as much I as enjoyed putting it down.
This should take your mind off the fact your not in Miami (well it works for me!)

This weeks show had a deeper mellow vibe for the most part. An Africa Deep sound that then headed over to NY in the form of Mr V who posted back 2 back 2 back tracks. His unmistakable smooth rolling sound epitomises the first hour of the show.
Big fan of Kyodai so it's no suprise to hear a couple of their tracks in the mix, again back to back.
It's then time for some vocal tracks to be added into the mix. Director's cut continue their fine form with their remix of The Layabouts' "Bring Me Joy".
Another producer on a great roll is Piers Kirwan. His current sound is similar to Spiritchaser but with a bit more edge.
The mix starts to toughen up as we move into UK Garage territory. Have to give a big shout to Andy Ward for the heads up on the insane "Beggin It". Heard it on his show a couple of weeks back and couldn't stop dancing round the room - even though I was trying to iron shirts for work at the time.
The mix really toughens up at this point with a couple of tracks from Tuccillo among others.
We sign off with a classic from way back in the day. They don't come much bigger.

Had nothing planned whatsoever for this weeks show. Up until a couple of hours before it was touch and go as to whether the show would be live from Jay-J's new residency in Sydney, so in my naivety I left my Traxsource cart unpurchased! Luckily it turned out well with a big bumper show packed full of things that tickle my fancy.
Since it was spur of the moment the direction of the mix was very much driven by the feedback in the chat room during the show. Leah the late night dancer loves her dirty bass, and Neale down here in Aus reacted every time I dropped a twisted UK style deep house track. Also lucky to have Kevin Anthony jump on straight after for a flashback to the old Sydney 2 Baltimore sessions of 2012.
Clocks are starting to change around the globe. Not 100% sure what that will mean for listeners on the top side of the planet - depends on whether I move my show time down here to accommodate, but I'll keep you posted. Remember to keep checking the official c2eMusic website as recordings from shows appear there a week before they hit Podomatic (if they get a release on here at all).

This weeks show had a lot to live up to following last week marathon live show from Jay-Js birthday party at the Civic Underground in Sydney.

Had a busy and action packed chatroom this week led by Leah the "Late Night Dancer".  Never a dull moment when she's in there.
The show featured mostly new stuff although the latter part was a healthy mix of new and recent deep chunky bouncing pumping tracks.
Also great to have Kevin Anthony from Baltimore jump on after the show for a flashback to the back to back sessions that were a regular on a Thursday in 2012.

This weeks show was new stuff almost all the way.  The UK Garage sound is growing stronger by the week.  So many tracks with those London style synths and an increasing number using vocal stabs from the late 80's and early 90's house classics.
Very conscious not to put out a pure UK Garage show at the moment.  Always like to try and mix the sound up a little hence the way this one flows providing the title of the show.
After a fair bit of deep underground sounds we take a break for a couple of tracks with some laid back vocals before picking up the whip and going again.
Another switch kicks in as we turn the clock back 20+ years for a couple of classics before ramping things up to bring it home.
Quiet in the chatroom and on the outside this week.  not as much fun when there isn't a buzz in there.
I know it's during work hours for most people but if you can make it your company is really appreciated.

Close call with this weeks show.  Ran out of bandwidth in Jan, it didn't reset until a few hours after the show.  Even bought a 4G Mobile dongle to broadcast with, but that was like trying to pass an Elephant through a drinking straw.  So fingers crossed hooked the shaped internet up and it worked a treat!

This weeks show was two hours of Latin house both as an attempt to warm everyone in the Northern hemisphere up and also to celebrate Shaun Cowards birthday.  If his claims to his current age stack up he is the youngest person to ever graduate from Sheffield Hallam University.  More likely that he's forgotten about ten of the years he's spent on this planet.

Anyway back to the mix and as you can imagine with this being Latin house most of the tracks range from the mid 00's primarily 2005 to 2010.

I have already mixed c2e Latin House 4 which is an 80 min mix reflecting the first half of this show.  Keep an eye out for it on the c2emusic.Podomatic.com site.

Finally managed to get back online - big thanks to John Mateo for ridding my PC of whatever illness it had.
This show was supposed to have aired on Dec 27th as the last of the 2012. Instead it is the first show of 2013 and what a way to start the year.

This mix features one (rare occasion two) tracks from each year starting in 2012 and working back 25 years to 1987.
It was very difficult as you can imagine picking the one track to represent each year. The more you dig the more you find and the harder it gets. Especially as each track would take the mix in a different direction, thus defining what you can pick from earlier years. Not easy, but lot's of fun.
I recommend it to anyone wanting to get re-acquainted with their old vinyl collection again.
We pay our respects to the late DJ Man-X with "Happy Endings" representing 2010 - great talent who will be missed by many.

I am immensely proud to say that the c2eMusic podcast was the number one Podcast over Christmas. That blew my mind and was the best Christmas present I could have wished for, so thank you everyone for making it happen. It is very reassuring that a Deep and Soulful house music podcast can be number one with all of the various genres out there today.

Back to this mix and at just over 2 hrs 40 minutes this is a genuine musical feast for anyone that has been into house from the early days and enjoys a trip down memory lane.
Music is one of those unique things that evokes memories like they happened yesterday. I can remember when I first heard nearly all of the tracks in here. Makes the last 25 years feel like they happened in the blink of an eye.

This was an exclusive c2emusic.com mix from a live Pressure set on Sunday evening in early.

John Mateo had been entertaining for a few hours and needed a rest so I jumped on.

Original intention was to keep it nice and mellow. A gentle Sunday roast of a mix.

As you will hear it is civilised for the most part, but there is a large dose of DEEP towards the end as Europe woke up and jumped in the chatroom to egg me on.
