Today, we listen as Msgr. McCormac remembers his own priestly ordination forty-six years ago. After attending the ordination Mass at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul yesterday (May 16, 2026), he began thinking about his own ordination day, and shares some personal reflections with all of us. One very special request he made to God that day was that the Lord put him in places and parishes where the parishioners truly want to celebrate the Eucharist. He expresses his gratitude to God and to all of us, his parishioners. Please listen to this very personal reflection from Msgr. In today's homily, Msgr. McCormac reminds us how Jesus is preparing his disciples as He prepares to return to heaven at the right hand of His father. He tells them "do not let your hearts be troubled", and that he was going to prepare a place for them, and that He would come back and take them to Himself. He also reminds them that He was the way to the Father, if they knew Him, then they knew the Father. We too, must come to know Jesus, our way to the Father. How are we to do that?
