My Sashimi Anxiety (我對生魚片的焦慮)Chapter 1: A Delicious Concern (美味的擔憂)

Last Friday, my friends and I went to a high-quality Japanese restaurant to celebrate the weekend.

I ordered a beautiful plate of fresh salmon and tuna sashimi.

While I was enjoying the smooth, delicious fish with a touch of wasabi, a random thought popped into my head. I remembered reading an article about parasites (寄生蟲) in raw seafood. My stomach suddenly felt a bit nervous. I started wondering: if I only eat raw fish once or twice a month, am I still risking my health? Eating raw food always feels like you have to take a leap of faith (放手一搏/憑信任嘗試) regarding food safety.

Chapter 2: The Truth About Freezing

When I got home, I decided to do some research online to calm my worries.

I was relieved to learn that modern food safety standards are very strict.

Most commercial restaurants use a special technique called "flash freezing" (急速冷凍) before serving raw fish. They freeze the seafood at extremely cold temperatures for several days. This process completely destroys any harmful parasites while keeping the fish fresh and tasty. Therefore, if you eat at clean, reputable (信譽良好的) restaurants, the chance of getting sick is extremely low. Learning this fact really helped put my mind at ease

Chapter 3: Smart Choices for Peace of Mind

So, do you need to stop eating raw fish completely? Absolutely not!

Occasionally enjoying sashimi is actually very healthy because fish is packed with good protein and omega-3 fatty acids (脂肪酸).

However, you should avoid buying raw fish from street stalls with poor hygiene (衛生) or leaving raw seafood out in warm weather. Knowing how to choose safe places to eat allows us to enjoy our meals without constant fear. As long as you choose trustworthy restaurants, enjoying sashimi once in a while is totally fine. Life is too short to worry about everything, so we should just go with the flow (順其自然/隨遇而安) and enjoy good food wisely!

The Secret Behind SHEIN's Success (SHEIN 成功的祕密)Chapter 1: Unbelievable Prices (不可思議的價格)

Last week, my friend showed me a huge box of trendy clothes she bought online.

She got five dresses, three tops, and two pairs of earrings for less than fifty dollars!

I was shocked when I heard the price, so I decided to check out the shopping app, SHEIN. I quickly realized why this online fashion giant is taking over the shopping world. They offer thousands of stylish clothes at extremely cheap prices. For students or young workers on a tight budget, shopping on SHEIN feels like a dream. Their super low prices really hit the sweet spot (打中痛點/達到最完美平衡) for budget-conscious consumers everywhere.

Chapter 2: Daily New Arrivals

Beyond low prices, another secret to their crazy sales is speed.

Unlike traditional clothing stores that change their inventory (庫存) every season, SHEIN updates its app with thousands of new styles every single day!

They use advanced algorithm (演算法) tools to track fashion trends on social media in real time. As soon as a style becomes popular on TikTok, they can produce it and put it on sale within just two weeks. This ultra-fast production model allows them to stay ahead of all their competitors. Their ability to deliver trendy designs so fast really gives them an edge (給予優勢/勝人一籌) in the modern market.

Chapter 3: Social Media Magic (社群媒體的魔力)

Finally, SHEIN excels (擅長) at social media marketing.

They encourage customers to share "try-on haul" videos on TikTok and Instagram to get discount coupons.

When young shoppers see everyday people showing off their trendy outfits, they want to buy them immediately. Watching these fun videos makes shopping feel like an exciting game. Before you even notice it, you have added ten items to your cart! Their marketing strategy works so well that customers often end up buying far more clothes than they originally planned. Honestly, SHEIN’s clever combination of low prices, fast speed, and social media takes the cake (令人刮目相看/無人能及) in the world of online shopping!

1. Construction of the 150,000-square-foot facility is already underway and is scheduled for --- [1] --- by early next spring.

    (A) completion(完成 / 完工)

    (B) completely(完全地 / 徹底地)

    (C) complete(完成 / 完整的)

    (D) completing(正在完成)

(A) completion

      • (B) completely:
      • (C) complete:
    2. --- [2] ---. "This expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demand for fast and reliable shipping," said Marcus Vance, CEO of Apex Logistics.

    (A) The project was delayed due to unexpected weather conditions.(該項目因意外的天氣狀況而延誤。)

    3. To support its sustainability goals, Apex Logistics will equip the facility with energy-efficient lighting and solar panels. --- [3] ---, the company plans to introduce a fleet of electric delivery vehicles at this location.

    (A) On the contrary(恰恰相反)

    (D) during(在……期間)

(A) through

管道/途徑」(through the portal),符合語意。

      • (B) about:關於。
