This is the second part of the interview with Abdel Rahman ElGendy, former Egyptian prisoner of conscience who spent more than six years behind bars from Oct 2013 until his release in Jan 2020. He was arrested at 17, and left prison at 24. While in prison, ElGendy earned an engineering degree from Ain Shams University. In this episode, ElGendy discusses not only his own story, but that of his prison colleague Ayman Moussa, who continues to lounge in Egyptian prisons. This episode is in Arabic.

ElGendy spoke about his imprisonment, Ayman Moussa's imprisonment and the bond between them. He also spoke about resistance through all possible means including writing, poety and art. But most of all, ElGendy spoke of the feat of being forgotten. 

عبد الرحمن الجندى سجين سياسى سابق فقد كان  طالبا بالجامعة الألمانية بالقاهرة وقد القى القبض عليه فى شهر اكتوبر 2013 عندما كان يبلغ من العمر 17 عاما وقد حكم عليه بالسجن 15 عاما قضى منها 6 سنوات ثم تم الإفراج عنه مؤخرا فى يناير 2020 حيث ان القانون المصرى يمنع محاكمته كشخص بالغ. زقد حصل الجندى على بكالوريوس الهندسة من جامعة عين شمس اثناء حبسه والآن يكتب الشعر والمقالات والنثر لكل من مدى مصر ورصيف 22. فى هذا الجزء الثانى من الحوار يتحدث ليس فقط عن تجربته ولكن علاقته بزميل له وهو ايمن موسى الذى لا يزال محبوسا على ذمة ذات القضية. هذا الحديث باللغة العربية.

Dr. Hamzawy is a  political scientist who taught in Cairo, Egypt and Berlin, Germany and currently teaches political science at Stanford University in California. He is a former member of the Egyptian parliament of 2012. Dr. Hamzawy was a founding member of the Egyptian  National Democratic Party, and split from it and founded the Freedom Egypt Party. He is also author of many books and articles on Egypt and the Middle East.

Abdel Fattah is a former lawyer who obtained his masters degree in political studies from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
