Worship fundamentally involves scripture, God’s word. Concepts of the Bible are woven into our prayers whether out loud or when we communicate with the Lord in our hearts. Songs written by God fearing men and women as they are lead by the Spirit incorporate scripture, many times verses are actually quoted within the lyrics of the music.

Today God wants us to think about “Comfort Food”. And no, we are not looking at something like chocolate. Our ‘comfort food’ is the word of God, the Bible, our ‘daily bread’. God’s word will bring us comfort and joy. Not just a few moments of happiness but unspeakable joy. Comfort that is always available to us no matter what.

I had the privilege and honor of pronouncing blessings at a wedding recently. As I studied the word, looking for just the right thing to share, it was a HUGE blessing to me as I found so many blessings in our instruction book, the Bible.

For Christians, we are just passing through, this world is not our home! Jesus Christ told His disciples that He was going away to prepare a home for them. So until we die or He returns, we can be excited about our Homecoming and the Reunion that will be!

God is in control. He is all knowing and omnipotent. He allows certain things and creates and makes other things happen. There are a lot of things I don’t understand about events that take place or know why but I have faith in Him.

Think about what it means to be “best” at something, to give the “best”, to look “best”. Today, let’s look into scripture at God and “His best”, us and “Our best” and that for Christians, “the best” is yet to come!

We all have times when we are tired. It may be physically, after working on something. Or having had a long, stressful day on the job. You could be tired spiritually after significant time and effort in ministry. And the amount of time you are tired could vary from very briefly, a few days or a season of your life. Some of us get locked in to a “Tired Perspective”.

Who or what do you worship? Who is on the throne of your life? What is it that you invest most of your time thinking about and much of your finances investing in? Is it possible that you are worshiping an “Idol” rather than the living God?

When we accept the gift of Salvation and pass from the position of being condemned to pay the penalty for our sin, into being in Christ, saved, given new life then all things become new in our lives both physically and spiritually. This is then our “new self”.

Do you want God to bless America? Do you pray for that and put feet to your prayers with action? Spiritual blessings for our nation will come through His people as they are committed to Him. God send a revival, let it begin with me.
