High Performers are people that are more successful than their peers. Not only more successful, but they do so on a more consistent basis. They're usually less stressed, as well.
Amongst other factors, Burchard and his team have completed extensive research to find out why some people are more successful than others - and how they do it happier. His team has found out over decades of interviews and research that it comes down to six different habits.
INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY is the fourth personal habit that Brendon Burchard speaks about.
Burchard breaks this down into three sections.
1) Increase the Outputs that Matter
- determine your Prolific Quality Output (PQO)
- this is the key action that will move the needle in your goal
- schedule atleast 60% of your work week dedicated to your various PQO's
- Be aware of procrastination and perfectionism
2) Chart Your Five Moves
- each of your goals should have five specific steps to take in order for you to ultimately reach for those milestones
- talent only goes so far, High Performers think before acting
3) Get Insanely Good at Key Skills
- Burchard dives into the topic about identifying the skills that you need in your pursuit of your goals
- Burchard has developed the Progressive Steps to Mastery, these steps take you from an amateur to a seasoned veteran within a given skill
i) Find a skill to master.
ii) Set small, achievable goals for development.
iii) Attach high levels of emotion and meaning to your results and journey.
iv) Find factors critical to success, and develop within those areas.
v) Visualize what success, and failure looks like within the skill.
vi) Take on practices developed by experts.
vii) Get feedback from others, and measure your progress
viii) COMPETE! Socialize your learning and efforts.
ix) Progressively set higher level goals;
x) Go teach others this skill you have learned!
