There is plenty of talk at the mid-week point about the tropical storm expected to make landfall this weekend. Some are suggesting the game might move locations, or even re-scheduled altogether. But, if the system decides to miss Tuscaloosa on Saturday, we are in for one hell of a slugfest.

You find out something new every day. The Georgia Bulldogs and Oklahoma Sooners football teams, two 130+ year old programs, have only played each other one time - the infamous Rose Bowl in Kirby's 2nd year at UGA. So we welcome the Sooners to the Classic City for the first time ever. Their team comes into town with little optimism after losing to Michigan and barely squeaking by a lowly New Mexico squad. Nevertheless, this is a historical showdown and still likely the best home game of the year. And don't overlook that OU defense!

The Dawgs are back in the Big Easy for a rematch against Ole Miss in the CFP Quarterfinals. The stakes don’t get higher. Survive and advance. After the performance against Alabama in early December, many Dawg fans are feeling confident in this team. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. But if we play anywhere close to the level we played Bama, we like our chances against anybody!

I still am not sure that I fully believe what I witnessed on Saturday night. A three touchdown lead over Alabama in the 4th quarter. My heart calmly staying put in my chest. Kirby saying his usual "kirby-isms" into the mic while Alabama players were walking into the locker with that sweet look of defeat. Never in my life would I have thought we would dominate them in that building after the years of torment the Dawg faithful have endured against the Tide. How dare us doubt the KANG!? What an incredible performance by the entire defense. Gunner takes home MVP. Frazier lead the rushing attack and took the fight to that Bama front. Backup wide receiver, Cole Speer, get the party started with a HUGE blocked punt in the 1st quarter. Somehow, someway, the Dawgs put it all together, and honestly, absolutely spanked Alabama. We get a 1st round bye and take on the winner of Ole Miss/Tulane (Ole Miss) in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day. What a time to be a Dawg - your 2025 SEC Champions!

Well what do you know? After all the hoopla about Texas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and somehow, Vandy... it's Georgia playing Alabama again in Atlanta for the conference championship. The Dawgs are in the playoffs regardless of the result this Saturday. But Kirby will be the first to tell you, the SEC Championship is just as important to him as the Natty. If the Dawgs exorcise the crimson demons, we are looking at a top 4 seed and first round bye. Lose, and we better hope the committee thinks we deserve a top 8 spot, at least.

Everybody knows our recent series history against Bama. Throw it out the window. All bets are off. Let's beat these fools.

Texas thought they could walk into Athens and steal one in Sanford Stadium. They thought wrong. The Bulldog faithful showed up and showed out - and so did our guys on the field. Then we cruised through lowly Charlotte to put us in great shape heading into rivalry weekend, with a great matchup against a talented Georgia Tech team. Of course, Tech is reeling from Pittsburgh taking them out to the wood shed last weekend. Thankfully, the Dawgs seem to be heading in the better direction. It will be a fun one in Mercedes Benz, where there are sure to be significantly more folks dressed in red and black than gold and white.

Them Dawgs put together their most complete performance of the year last weekend against Mississippi State. It couldn't have come at a better time. Texas comes to town for the first time in program history this weekend. All eyes will be on Athens for this primetime showdown. We need the same wild environment that we saw earlier in the year against Alabama.... only with a better result. Let's give the Longhorns a warm welcome to the Classic City.
