Calling the Dawgs

These Dawgs are forcing us to love them despite giving us heart attacks week after week. Kirby has these "Cardiac Kids" in a great position as we come down the final stretch of the season. We've still got two, big ranked matchups with Texas and Tech remaining. But this week, our focus is solely on the Bulldogs from Mississippi. Those noon games can be a bit tricky. It's not a great spot for either team, but I'd put my money on Kirby having his Bulldogs more prepared than his opponent coming into this one.

After a nice weekend off, the Dawgs are back to take on a flailing Florida Gator team. Regardless of their record, this one's always a fight. Who knows how this team will respond after losing their head coach? All we know is, them Dawgs are ready to break them.

After that game, we wouldn't be surprised to hear some folks have put money on #14 to win the Heisman. What an incredible performance by our QB and offense as a whole last weekend between the hedges. The defense.... well they left much to be desired. There is plenty to fix before the Dawgs begin the November stretch of the schedule. But we're going to enjoy this one until next week. Let's hope the Dawgs rest up this weekend (and heal up) to get ready for the Cocktail Party.

Wouldn't you know, you need possession of the football as it crosses the goal line for it to be a touchdown? CJ Allen with the play of the year so far! Them Dawgs went into the Plains and played their worst half of football in the 1st, and then came out in the 2nd like a completely different (and dominant) team. We're hoping to see more of the 2nd half Dawgs this weekend against a very talented Ole Miss team. Gameday is in town. 3:30 kick. It doesn't get better than this!

Finally, a somewhat complete game under our belt. Now our attention shifts to Jordan-Hare, always a tough place to play, especially at night. This younger generation of Dawgs fans needs to go watch highlights of the 2010 game so they can learn how to hate Auburn the way they're supposed to. We certainly don't have that problem - to hell with Auburn.

Despite the incredible atmosphere in Sanford Stadium last Saturday, and more than enough chances to take the lead in the 2nd half, the Dawgs couldn't get it done against the Crimson Tide once again. This one stings. The question isn't "Do we have a Bama problem?". It's "Are we ever going to get rid of our Bama problem?". We dive into what went wrong, how we can fix some issues, and if there were any positives to take away from the loss last weekend as we head into a noon matchup against Kentucky.

The game we've all been waiting for. The Alabama Crimson Tide return to Sanford Stadium for the first time in a decade. First night game of the year. The air will be a little crisp. There's a slight chance of rain. We're hoping there's a 100% chance we sending the Tide back to Tuscaloosa with their tail tucked between their legs and their playoff hopes hanging on by a thread. It's time to get the monkey off our back.

Rocky Top you'll always be... terrified to play the Georgia Bulldogs. Count 'em, that's 9 in a row against a team that we watched kick our tail every other year growing up. We want the full decade next year. Gunner played his tail off, the running game got going, but we need more from this defense. Even still, that was an incredible win and a fun game to watch for even the least interested college football fan.
