Whatever the situation, the best way to elevate your level of calm is to connect to the people around you…all people. Today I talk about how to do just that.

There are pros and cons to everything. For me, at the risk of sounding like a number cruncher, it comes down to your ROI, return on investment. With absolutely everything, I gauge whether it is adding to my life or taking away. Obviously, if something is not adding value to my life, I ditch it. Such is the case with social media. The only way to figure it all out is to ask myself some questions. Do you feel like answering some for yourself? Come listen.

Life can be stressful; no questions there. But do you know when you are stressed? Many times we are so immersed in stress that we assume it is our normal, our unstressed state. Sometimes we lose sight of the things that really matter. Sometimes we get swept away in the denser aspects of humanness, unwilling to reconnect to our divinity, to our light. It happens to everyone. But then what do you do? Do you stay there, or do you decide to once again step into the light; owning and relishing your divinity. Today I talk about the steps I take to do just that.

Sometimes buying things is a way of avoiding difficult feelings. Sometimes it causes greater unrest because it can put us in debt. These four questions should help you tame the unrest before you purchase anything.

When life gets a little tough there are things we can do to smooth out the roughness. The challenge in doing that is finding things that will help us in the short term instead of finding things to do that we keep on doing long term. Comfort is a perfect example. There are little things we can do that will make those tough times more manageable. Conversely, there are comforting things that we add to our lives to avoid feeling any discomfort. Not sure what I'm talking about? Sit back and take a listen.

Our eyes allow us to see the smiles of the people we love. They allow us to see a sunset, or the rain as it falls. But as wonderful as our eyes are, sometimes they don't allow us to see everything; and that's okay. Many times what we think we see is a fabrication of our own biases. In these instances, we become tired and even sad. Today I talk about how we can use our eyes to their best advantage, while also understanding that we don't need to make up stories from what our eyes see.

When I am instructing people in learning how to meditate, one of the best aspects of a practice is helping them open up to the world around them. Once they experience a calmer mind, then they get to see the world around them, including examples of inspiration. Come listen to how that happens.
