The second half of Hebrews 12 starts out by encouraging us to live peaceable, holy lives. It will also challenge us to view our times of “shaking” as a necessary step of becoming righteous. We’ll also see some great reminders of how the NT way of meeting with God is far superior to the previous OT ways.

1 Corinthian 15:1-34 emphasizes the foundational importance of the Gospel, urging believers to build their lives on the truth of Jesus' death and resurrection. God’s grace with our salvation inspires our dedication and service to Christ. The resurrection of Christ also gives us hope beyond the grave and helps us not fear death.

This week Paul will discuss the importance of orderly worship and how when we allow the Holy Spirit to work in and though us we help to strengthen the church.

As we pick up in Hebrews11: 17-40 we continue to see how some amazing men and woman went through a life of test and trials so that they could leave for us great examples and encouragement of how we need to live a life of unshakable faith. We will be encouraged to stand on our faith instead of the things of the world.

In 1 Corinthians 14:1-25, the scriptures emphasize the importance of using spiritual gifts like tongues and prophecy with love and for the edification of the church. This message highlights the need for these gifts to glorify God and build up the church, while being mindful of how they are perceived by both believers and non-believers, ensuring that they demonstrate God's presence among us.

The beginning of Hebrews Chapter 11 describes faith as having confidence in the credibility of God. We learn that faith makes things we hope for as real as if we already had them. Verses 2-16 begin with what's known as the "Hall of Faith", as the writer reminds us about the stories of 5 Old Testament saints, (Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham and Sarah) who pleased God with their faith.

The second half of Chapter 10 encourages us be confident in God’s forgiveness. It challenges us to always draw near to God with a sincere heart, and warns us not to fall away and forsake God. It ends by encouraging us to persevere in our trials, because those who remain faithful will be saved!

Paul lists many of the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12. We’ll examine them one by one, and we’ll spend additional time discussing their proper use. Chapter 12 also reminds us that our spiritual gifts are equally important, without a hierarchy. Paul will use the human body as an illustration, reminding us that every part is necessary and vital for the body (the church) to function properly.
