True worship reflects Jesus through humility, honor, and alignment with God’s design. Join us as we decipher how to navigate culture from a kingdom perspective.

The first part of this teaching offers encouragement and challenges to fathers on this Father's Day weekend. The second part explores 1 Corinthians 10:14-33, where we learn that intimacy with both God and the world is incompatible, as the Apostle Paul urges us to glorify God by considering others in our use of freedoms and avoiding participation in demonic activities.

As we dive into Chapter 9, we learn how the new covenant is superior to the old. The writer begins by comparing the old tabernacle to the eternal one in heaven. We also see how the blood that was sacrificed by Jesus was greater than the blood sacrificed by animals. The eternal redemption of all people was settled once and for all through the blood of Christ.

In 1 Corinthians 10:1-13, we are reminded of the Israelites' mistakes during their exodus from Egypt, serving as lessons for us to avoid similar sins. God desires for us not to be defeated and lost in our own wilderness, but to live victoriously in the promised land.

The end of Chapter 7 and the 1st half of Chapter 8 reminds us that Jesus is far superior to all of Israel’s previous high priests. The 2nd half of Chapter 8 continues that mindset by explaining how much better the new covenant is than the old one.

When we put the Gospel above our personal rights and preferences, our lives become a clear path for Christ’s message to reach others, transforming not only us but everyone we influence.

We learn in Hebrews Chapter 7 about the weakness of the Levitical priesthood and how a new High Priest was established in the order of Melchizedek. Through the line of Judah, Jesus became the better covenant according to the power of endless life. His priesthood is unchanging and forever.

In 1 Corinthians 8, we learn how we can make decisions in the “gray areas” of life. Specifically, how to live out our faith in situations not explicitly covered by scripture. We will see the importance of prioritizing love over knowledge and exercising our personal freedoms to build others up instead of causing them to stumble.

The second half of Hebrews 5 challenges us to move past infancy and continue our spiritual growth. In Hebrews 6 we’ll study strong warnings that describe what happens to people who abandon their faith and reject God.

This weekend we will see that Paul highlights the importance of serving the Lord without distraction, whether married or single, and encourages believers to live in a way that honors God in their current situation. Our study will show the value of devotion to God and the freedom to serve Him wholeheartedly in every season of life.
