In this chapter, the Apostle Paul addresses the spiritual immaturity he found in the Corinthian church. This was a church who understood salvation but was not yet ready for the "meat" they needed to grow. As divisions arose, Paul reminded them of the one and only foundation which is Jesus Christ. He calls them and us as God's workers to be careful as we build because the work will be revealed and its quality tested.

Pastor Don has a long history with Calvary Chapel. After he gave his life to Christ at a Billy Graham Los Angeles Crusade in the 1960’s, he served as Assistant Pastor to Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and founded Calvary Chapel Bible College. Pastor Don also pastored several Calvary Chapel Churches including Calvary Chapel Lake Arrowhead, Calvary Chapel in Redlands and Calvary Chapel Laguna Beach, California. He was also instrumental in planting several Calvary Chapel Churches in the Bay Area that grew out of Calvary Chapel of San Jose.

Pastor Don and his wife Jean have been married for over 50 years, have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. They travel the world teaching at churches, bible colleges, conferences and retreats with Calvary Way Ministries.

Pastor Al realized God’s call on his life in 1973, at the age of seventeen. Soon after, he began serving as bass guitarist in a Christian band, where he met Norma, and they were married in 1975. He received his degree in Biblical studies from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs in 1977. After visiting a Calvary Chapel near his workplace Al was hooked, rejoicing to be taught the word of God. He eventually joined the staff of Calvary Chapel of Colorado Springs in music ministry. In 1991 the family relocated to New Mexico, where Al later served at Calvary Chapel Albuquerque as an assistant pastor and co-worship leader.

In 1997 the Lord called Al and his family back to Colorado Springs to pastor Calvary Worship Center. Though it was a difficult decision, they knew the Lord was leading them and they have experienced God’s awesome faithfulness as the fellowship has grown along with their faith. Al earned his Master’s degree in 2006 and in 2012 he earned his doctorate degree in Ministry from Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Al and Norma are the proud parents of three children, Renee, Nathan, and Reggie, as well as proud grandparents. They covet your prayers for their family and ministry as they endeavor to live a life pleasing to the Father. To God be the glory for all He has done and will do!
