This section of Leviticus deals with a wide range of areas of life ... everything from dealing with mildew through to sexual relationships. God expects purity ... moral & physical ... from his people.

At the centre of the ceremonial and sacrificial system were the priests … a whole tribe devoted to serving God in the tabernacle/temple. Entering into God's presence was only for this select group of people. But they were a shadow of what was to come in Jesus.

Sacrifices & Special Festivals were part of life in Israel. The sacrificaes were how you said thank you to God or dealt with your sin. The festival days were a reminder of God's salvation … especially the year of Jubilee.

Trusting Jesus means NOT TRUSTING in other things. Friendship with God is not about what we do … but able not trusting our own efforts. The oppostie of faith is not doubt but self-reliance.

Religion can hinder us from seeing the trust about God. What we need is rebirth … not simply a few rules for living a better life.

Jesus' encounter with Zacchaeus is the climax of Jesus journey to Jerusalem … and a kind of summary of why Jesus has come: To seek and save the lost. Zacchaeus is a changed man through his encounter with Jesus.

Revelation closes with God coming down from heaven to dwell with his people in perfect harmony. The judgement hs passed and the enemies of God no longer threatening.

What dominates Revelation from this point on is the idea of imitations ... counterfeits. And in Revelation 13 we are presented with the "Unholy Trinity" that the world is encouraged to worship and follow.
