Revelation can sound a bit the same when you read about the 7 seals the 7 bowls and the 7 trumpets. But no mater how repetitive things seem … we are heading to the culmination of all things in Judgement.

Paul now begins to address the questions that the Corinthians have asked him ... and they are questions about marriage, sex and singleness.

At the heart of these chapters is the issue of freedom and how we live with the freedom we have in Jesus. The Corinthians are abusing their freedom.

Paul says he is stunned by the immaturity of the Corinthians ... and it is most obvious in their view of leaders. He says they should follow his example: be a servant.

There is confusion in the church because of worldly ideas. Paul wants to remind them of the up-side-down way that God is at work through the Gospel.

The disciples certinaly weren't expecting Jesus to rise from the dead ... but when they saw him alive they understood who he was and what he had come to do.

Luke's Gospel gives us a graphic account of the arrest, trial and crucifixion of Jesus. But it is fascinating to see the things Luke focuses on: The insults, the innocence and the irony.

Jesus' pray in the upper room ... as he is just about to face the cross ... gives a great insight into what our priorities should be in prayer.

After what seems like the perfect end to the Gospel in John 20 we have one more chapter. Peter is reinstated and given his mission.

Jesus says that he is the true vine ... and if we are his followers we need to stay connected to him so that we can be fruitful.
