Ecclesiastes is a book where the writer is asking about the meaning of life. He sees that there is a lot about life that seems futile. But he also knows that God "has also set eternity in the hearts of men".

Job isn't just looking for an answer to why he is suffering. He is looking for more than that ... he is looking for a friend, an advocate and a redeemer.

Job has no idea what has taken place in heaven when he faces two terrifying days. He has questions ... but rather than getting answers from God, God asks Job some questions.

Sex is ... and always has been ... a powerful influence in our world. So it is no surprise that Proverbs has a lot to say about sex, marriage and relationships.

Proverbs has a lot to say about the attitudes we should have ... and much of it is echoed in the pages of the New Testament. But when we reach the New Testament we have an extra motivation for living a godly life.

The book of Proverbs is about living wisely in the world. King Solomon ... a man renowned for his wisdom ... is the main contributor to the collection of proverbs. But Jesus is the one who has great wisdom that Solomon.

This life is very short ... that that is a fact everyone would do well to remember. And if we understand that our lives are short than like the writer of Psalm 90 we will ask God to "teach us to number our days" so that we can live wisely.

Remembering to say thankyou is not always easy ... but it is important. We know that in our relationships ... and it is never more ture than when it comes to God.
