  • Episode 151: In Good Company with Todd Citron

The OG host of local Catholic podcasting joins us this week, Mr. Todd Citron! A loving husband, girl dad, and GM of Hub City Ford...this guy LOVES the Lord and Acadiana. What a man, ya'll, who we now call our friend.

Todd is full of incredible stories. From the history of his family and Hub City Ford to his supernatural experiences with the Eucharist and his love of The Holy Spirit. The stories he tells of his mom, Marcelle, left us in awe and deeply inspired. We're pretty sure that this man has the gift a prophecy, but he'd never admit it. Y'all tune in and listen for yourselves how beautifully the Lord speaks to him.

  • Episode 150: Fr. Floyd Calais Making Dreams Come True

A very beloved priest of 72 years and THE greatest storyteller joins us this week, Fr. Floyd Calais!

Fr. Calais dazzles us with ALL the memories and ALL the laughter as we reminisce on the influence of his parents in his life, his entering the seminary at the age of 15, and the burning desire to be appointed pastor of his own parish. Fr. Calais began asking for intercession from Our Little Cajun Saint, Charlene Richard, and two weeks later he was assigned to Richard, LA. He credits her to helping him build two churches in the diocese of Lafayette, and he continues to rely on her intercession today to make big things happen.

What an absolute dream come true to interview the man who baptized Kayla and celebrated the sacraments of her first reconciliation and communion. HUGE shoutout to Kent Zerangue for setting this up, and for being there to experience this moment with us. Join us for ALL of the joy that is Fr. Calais!

The Holy Spirit walked us right up to Nicole Ducharme at Sacred Heart in Broussard and she joins us for a beautiful conversation in the supply closet!
She brings us on her journey from youth ministry in Texas then back to Louisiana and now following her calling from the Lord to teach Theology at Vermilion Catholic in Abbeville. The way she describes the absolute beauty of the Sacraments and the healing power of The Holy Spirit will ignite some kinda fire inside of you.
"God never never, never imposes on our life, He always pre-poses. Prayer is an invitation." Choooooo! Y'all don't want to miss the magic of this woman!

  • Episode 148: Shoutout to Adoration with Paige Latiolais

It's episode 148 and we are coming to you from the supply closet at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Broussard! Paige Latiolais brings us ALL the AMENS live from the Healing the Whole Person Retreat put on by John Paul II Healing Center.

It's early in the morning ya'll, and the content is equally goofy as it is enlightening! Paige reminded us of the importance in following the call of the Holy Spirit as she explains it was a nudge to attend Mass that sparked her desire for more. She would go on to complete RCIA and later write a book about finding our identity in Christ!

"I Am Who You Say I Am" contains reflections and Truth spoken from God that the reader can use to directly replace the lie of the enemy. Who doesn't need some capital "T" Truth renewing their mind, Can I Getta Amen!?

Shoutout to Sacred Heart of Jesus in Broussard (first parish to make it on a Rushmore!) and John Paul II Healing Center for sharing their sacred space with us!

    📖Verse of the Week:
John 15: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.  He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me."

The Opdenhoffs, who's last name literally means "At the Garden" , modeled what it was like to be Adam and Eve when they were removed from the loving embrace of God due to sin. If you are human like us and and have experienced the wounds of abandonment, fear, powerlessness, hopelessness, confusion, rejection, and shame gripping on to you, y'all join us and dive in! • Episode 144: We Can't Faith Alone with John Ray Perkins III

We welcome one of the coolest and most calming voices to sit in Holy Spirit Studios, Mr. John Ray Perkins III ya'll. He takes us through the pivotal moments from altar serving and youth ministry to his newest journey into real estate and as The Director of Adult Formation at St. Pius X in Lafayette.

John Ray's faith was formed at an early age when his parents both went through a conversion.  Looking back, he considered himself to be a "cultural  Catholic", until an encounter at a Stubenville Conference deepened his faith. He left us totally inspired and intrigued about  the Charismatic movement of the Catholic Church and it's importance in our faith community.

John Ray creates a sacred space for us all to share about recent encounters we’ve had with the Lord, God’s immense mercy, and the rewards of pure blind faith.

What an absolute treat to be joined by a fellow nerd and all around wonderful holy human. We welcome Fr. Travis Abadie to the podcast this week and Alert...Alert...we get geeky about all kinds of good stuff.

Listening to his story, it was obvious to us that Fr. Abadie was destined to become a priest. Making the executive decision to get baptized as a child and then regularly attending mass as soon as he got his driver's license,  His loyalty to God is even thicker than his loyalty to Costco.

He keeps us laughing and learning throughout the whole episode. You can't help but fall more in love with the Lord listening to this guy. Tune in!

  • Episode 142: Holy Cow it’s Deacon Big Mike Vidrine

Deacon Big Mike Vidrine is in the house this week, and we loved every minute of getting to know this holy human!

A native of Palmetto, the strong foundation of his faith was laid at a very early age. Deacon Michael recounts the memories of praying the rosary nightly with his family and the vital importance his parents put on personal prayer with the Lord. He brings these lessons into his ministry as a Deacon referencing that just as food and water are necessary for survival, relationship with God, going to Mass, and receiving the sacraments are necessary for the survival of our souls.

“Both sin and grace are communal realities. No sin affects only the perpetrator and no act of grace merits only the person who does it. We live in a body. That’s what the mystical body of Christ is.” —Deacon Michael Vidrine

    📖Verse of the Week:
    John 19:28
After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.”.
