Join Shauna and Rebecca in their discussion of book #4 of CBC's Canada Reads 2020 competition, Son of a Trickster.  Someone loves it and someone has a really shallow reason why she struggled at the beginning of the book.

They also mention Megan Gail Coles' accent, which you'll hear in this wonderful CBC Books interview with the five 2020 authors!

Shauna and Rebecca review CBC's Canada Reads 2020 book #2.  And if you've listened to their interview with Jesse Thistle and George Canyon, there are no surprises how many maple leafs they hand out.  Their review does contain spoilers, so proceed with caution!

Shauna and Rebecca score an amazing double interview!  First up is Jesse Thistle, author of From the Ashes, a CBC's Canada Reads 2020 contender, followed by the defender of the book, George Canyon.  Jesse talks about his words and his soulmate, while George discusses why From the Ashes is a book that all of Canada should read. AND Rebecca tells us, not once, but twice how she has chosen this book as the CBC's Canada Reads 2020 winner. ;P

Shauna and Rebecca are honored to speak with Tima Kurdi, author of The Boy on the Beach, from her home in Vancouver.  This is the book they felt should have been on the CBC's Canada Reads shortlist and won the 2019 competition for "one book to move you".  Tima's book tells the story of the horrific plight of refugees--especially her brother's family which included her nephew Alan who was literally "the boy on the beach".  Please join Shauna and Rebecca for this special interview.
