Portfolio manager Dan Dupont is back on the show today to provide his thoughts on the markets throughout 2021 and looking ahead at 2022. Dan invests with a large focus on downside risk mitigation, and for Canadian investors he manages Fidelity Canadian Large Cap Fund, and co-manages Fidelity NorthStar® Fund, among other offerings. Dan shares his views on valuations, inflation, and the uncertainty around fiscal and monetary policy. With this uncertainty, Dan reminds us that investors need to remain extremely vigilant. Dan also speaks on mining, the Canadian dollar, as well as investing in oil and gas, and areas of ESG. Dan comments we’ve seen positive ESG stories in some areas, but they are highly priced and we’re seeing some minor and some major bubbles in other areas of ESG.
