Health MEC in Limpopo Dr Phophi Ramathuba says her department is set to purchase more ambulances as a way of amplifying service delivery challenges. Ramathuba told Nghamula Chauke that they are addressing challenges that the department had experienced due to shortage of ambulances which was unacceptable. She has refuted allegations that the department was not adding to the fleet but merely parading the same ambulances as new ones. The MEC had earlier in the day handed over a new fleet of ambulances to the Voortrekker hospital emergency centre.

The Road Accident Fund Spokesperson Mclntosh Polela has told Nghamula Chauke that RAF is appalled by the entitlement that some foreign nationals have on how the entity should conduct its business. Polela was explaining RAF's position on the exclusion of foreign nationals regarding them being barred from making claims in the country according to a new bill. He gave an example that no South African national can go to a foreign country and demand to benefit from the purse of some entities in that country. He emphasized that this has nothing to do with discrimination, but certain processes adopted in some countries.

An expert from the National Research Foundation says as part of World Food Day, there is a need to promote the eating of indigenous foods which have proven to be healthy and less expensive. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, National Research Foundation Chair in Food Environments, Nutrition and Health Prof Xikombiso Gertrude Mbhenyane said interventions are needed in the country to ensure the consumption of foods with health benefits. Prof. Mbhenyane has also highlighted her concern that there is a low consumption and sale of indigenous plants in the country, despite their health benefits.

Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, the South African Medical Association Trade Union's General Secretary Dr Cedric Sihlangu expressed concern on the increasing number of bogus health professionals. He says the health department must find ways to curb this problem before it spirals out of control. Dr Sihlangu says it is sad that when these doctors are not found and dealt with legally, poor patients will be the ones to bear the brunt of these corrupt activities.

The mayor of Mogalakwena Municipality Ngoako Taueatsoalo denies that the municipality is having governance issues. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, Tauetsoalo said although the municipal assets were on the verge of being auctioned as per the High court order to settle the bill of a service provider, the municipality is still functional. The mayor said the bill has since been settled but there are internal investigations that are still underway. He also took advantage of the set up to also share the municipality's stand on the issue of Municipal Manager Morris Maluleke's appointment which the court has declared to be unlawful.

As we wrap up Heritage month, we decided to look at what Christianity says about ancestral matters. Nghamula Chauke spoke Pastor Othaniel Maepa of Eternal Life International church who agrees that there are ancestors but says as per the Biblical standards, they are not meant to be worshipped. He says it is however sad that Christians have decided to abandon their culture which is something that should not be condoned.

The Masia Traditional Council has announced its decision to remove Livhuwani Matsila from his position as the leader of HaMatsila village. The traditional council's Head of Communication Abraham Matsila told Nghamula Chauke that Matsila was no longer taking instructions from the Chief and that he would invite high profile dignitaries to the village without the Chief's knowledge. still on this, Matsila's Spokesperson Ambani Thenga said Chief Masia is fighting battles that seek to undermine the leadership of Matsila and that he is spreading malicious and unfounded rumours.

A cultural expert from the University of Limpopo Professor Sekgothe Mogoetjane says it is important for Africans to remember that Heritage month and day is not just about the wearing of colourful cultural themed clothes. Professor Mogoetjane told Nghamula Chauke that there is more to heritage than clothes that some of them are not even cultural clothes as many believe. He has called on Africans to do more research about what heritage is and adds that there is a need to preserve everything that comes with the concept of Heritage.

Residents of Seshego have stopped a newly launched infrastructure project of the Seshego Traffic Circle. Community representative Hani Mafalo told Nghamula Chauke that they were never consulted by the municipality about this project. He further says they demand to be included in the project as community members.

Members of the ANC Sepeke branch under the Norman Mashabane region are accusing REC member who is also the Mayor of Maruleng Municipality Tsheko Musolwa of dividing the party. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, Chairperson of the ANC Sepeke Branch Aubrey Pule, said Musolwa is going around using state resources to garner unwarranted support from members. He adds that they have since decided to take this matter up with the powers that be at the region. Still on this, ANC Norman Mashabane Spokesperson Peter Ngobeni said the members' memorandum of grievances has been received and the leadership is still looking into it.
