Starring veteran stuntman Masanori Mimoto, the film is a small, but ambitious production that punches far above it's budget's weight in the realm of action and martial arts choreography.
With a likable cast and truly fantastic and unique fight sequences, the film is a treat for martial arts connoisseurs on the lookout for a new flavor of action to add to their palette.

The only film directed by writer Scott Walker, the film is largely a vehicle for the then up and coming Vanessa Hudgens, despite Nicolas Cage's name getting the marquee treatment on the poster and DVD cover.
A dreary, depressing slog, the film nevertheless manages to shed light on the most high profile serial killer case of Alaska's recent history.

Briskly paced and cleverly shot and edited, the film is among the very best of the daikaiju subgenre of Japanese sci-fi.
Okay, so maybe the first movie this month has essentially nothing to do with the holidays, but at the very least the film contains a handful of scenes shot in the snow.

Starring Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Gerard Depardieu and Gabriel Byrne as the musketeers, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio in dual roles, the film is a somewhat tepid costume drama that was unfortunately marketed as an action-adventure film.
The best elements of the film are Jeremy Irons' magnificent wig, and Gerard Depardieu's greasy French ass.
