Pastor Bob walked us through a believer's relationship with money. And here's the thing, yes we're in a building campaign and we are encouraging all those who call ccdelco home to invest into this next season and building expansion, but we also want to inspire you to become generous with your money beyond this expansion. Because of the gospel, we as Christians get to have an open-handed, redeemed relationship with money... Ownership, Stewardship, Worship, Joy, and Sacrifice.

This week, Pastor Bob gave us a lesson on leadership from the book of Nehemiah. It's one thing to cast a great vision, but another to actually turn that vision into reality. Written 3,500 years ago, Nehemiah gave great wisdom and insight that has stood the test of time, and we encourage you to listen to this message and seek God on how to apply it to your season.

We have officially kicked off our Open Doors Sermon Series, intended to give you our church's vision for the next several years. Not only are we expanding our physical reach through a building campaign (we need more space!), but we are walking through ministry doors we believe God has opened for us. Will we move where the Holy Spirit flowing?

The goal of almost all human beings on the planet is to be happy. Why, even the Psalmist says, "Happy are the people who's God is Jehovah!" There's an abundant life out there for us, like Jesus calls us to in John 10:10, and perhaps 2024 is the year we take a hold of it! Pastor Bob kicked off 2024 with his message on how to strengthen the four core areas of human flourishing: God, money, career, and relationships.

Pastor Austin taught on Luke 5:1-11 when Jesus called his first disciples and broke their expectations of who the Messiah could be. God can break your expectations. And it’s only after God began to break Peter’s expectations did Peter see Jesus for who he really was.

This week, Pastor Bob weighed the qualifications for discipleship in Mark 8 as he unpacked what Jesus meant when he said, "Whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it."

We studied the story in Mark 7:24-37 of "A Gentile Shows Her Faith." Nothing moves God more than demonstrated acts of faith! And we see a woman demonstrate great faith who understood grace—that if God is a God of love, and if Jesus was sent to save lost people, then by the work of God’s unlimited love through Jesus' sacrifice, there was room at the table for her. We've all been carried to the table, brought by grace, humility, and faith. 

Pastor John taught us in Mark 6 titled "Through The Storm." Why do we have storms? What's the purpose of storms? And what can we learn from them?

Pastor Bob led us to Mark 5 this past Sunday, exploring Jesus and demons. He explores the idea that evil is very real in our world, but Jesus has not given us a manual to fight against demons, he's given us Himself. His very nearness. God with us! We can stand in faith of a delivering God.

Pastor Bob continued in Mark 4 with the story of Jesus calming the storm. Or should it be called, "Jesus Taking the Disciples to the Other Side"? Take a listen to Pastor Bob's take on the storm they encountered on their way across the Sea of Galilee and the irrational fear the disciples—these fishermen—had. If we let fear rule our lives, safety and security will be the idols and gods of our life. We will worship the risk free life, where we never go to the other side. Where we don’t risk and grow.
