We had the pleasure to welcome Abdu Murray to speak at both campuses! Abdu unpacked the conflict in the Middle East by walking us through Genesis 16 and ending at the cross. We can trust God with the future because we see His faithfulness in the past. 

This week, Pastor Bob taught from Mark 2:23-3:6 on the Sabbath. His message titled "What Angers God?" tackled what we see in the teaching text: religion. Jesus (God in the flesh) is furious at the religious leaders for placing heavy burdens on people. Religion places heavy burdens that God never intended to do. Jesus came to lighten man’s burdens and the Sabbath is a gift that beckons us to cease from working and while resting, trust in the Lord.

Pastor Bob continued in Mark 2:1-12 with the story of Jesus' healing the paralytic—of sins AND of his physical condition. Jesus lifted the weight of sins from people. That’s what he came to do. We get to be healed, whole, and forgiven people all because of our reconciled relationship back to God the Father. There is a God we don't have to be afraid of. Who we can bring our friends to. And who came to bring us into His home.

Pastor Bob continued in Mark 1:14-28 with his message, "How Sinners Get Cleansed", focusing in on Jesus' miracle of healing the leper. What areas of your life are you refusing to touch but are actually in need of God’s love and forgiveness?

Pastor Bob kicked off a new series in Mark called "Jesus the Servant." There are many themes in the Gospel of Mark, but not many might see the theme of servanthood, written to the Romans who had millions of indentured slaves. The picture of a "huperete" or under-rower is exactly who Jesus is to us: a slave in the bottom of the warship getting us from Point A to Point B. God came down the ladder, born in poverty, born in Bethlehem, born into obscurity. We were blessed to have Pastor Bob speak on his "10 Things I Know About Bible Prophecy" message that he presented at the conference with a few updates on the status of Israel. 

This week we celebrated our 30th anniversary as a church as Pastor Bob spoke on the Parable of the Sower and likened it to the church. We must do our diligence in laying the seed, but it is the Lord who brings the harvest.

Pastor Bob completed the ASK Prayer Series with a message in John 17 on "Why Some Prayers Go Unanswered." Some of the greatest answered prayers in life are actually a "no" from God, who's the only one who can see the full picture—check out the full service below to learn why.

Pastor Bob continued with Part 2 of our ASK series titled, "The Abiding Principal" in John 15. We tend to think prayer is to get God on board with what we want, but prayer is to get us on board with what God desires. When we get alone with Him, he redirects our prayers to His will. 

Pastor Bob started our new series on prayer with his message, "What Jesus Taught About Prayer." Our marching orders for this series isn't to look back and feel guilty about our prayer lives, but to look forward at the possibilities of a flourishing prayer life.
