According to a new bulletin put out by the CDC, it turns out that the ancient disease known as leprosy has become more and more widespread in the southern United States—particularly in central Florida.

“Central Florida, in particular, accounted for 81% of cases reported in Florida and almost one fifth of nationally reported cases,” according to the CDC. In fact, according to this report, 81 percent of all leprosy cases in the whole country are located in Florida. Furthermore, 20 percent of all leprosy cases in the country are found in central Florida.
