CEFC

In this message, we'll discover how to seek Jesus, how Jesus seeks sinners first, and why every one of us is either moving toward grumbling or toward generosity. Most importantly, we'll see that Jesus meets us where we are, but he never leaves us where we are. God can call you by name and transform you by grace! Join us at cefc.church.

Are you chasing happiness… only to feel empty?

Solomon had it all — wealth, pleasure, success — and called it meaningless. The truth is, living to please yourself always ends in disappointment. In this message, we explore why living to please God is actually where we find lasting joy, contentment, and purpose. Join us at cefc.church.

Jonah 4:1-5

Why are you angry? Essentially, that is the question that God asks the prophet Jonah when Jonah was angry that God did not punish his enemies. Anger can be a warning light that something is wrong in our heart. This sermon explores the cause of our anger and finds healing in the grace and forgiveness of Christ. Join us at cefc.church.

When we slide down into a dark place, God is waiting to hear our prayer.

We often expect God to deliver us quickly, comfortably, and on our terms. But in Jonah 2, God meets a runaway prophet at rock bottom: in the depths, in the dark, in what feels like the grave. And there in the dark, Jonah discovers the steadfast love of God.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, distant, or at the end of yourself—this prayer is for you!

Salvation belongs to the Lord.

Have you ever been so consumed by the wrong thing that you tried to hide from the right thing? That’s Jonah. He hated the Ninevites so much that he chose to try to run and hide from God’s presence and direction. It was a selfish move. It was a foolish move. Going in the opposite direction from God, Jonah is caught in the middle of a storm. It became clear that someone had to be sacrificed to save the sailors caught on the boat with Jonah. Jonah recognized that he was that person. Through this story, we see that salvation comes through sacrifice. Join us at cefc.church to learn more.

What happens if you run from the will of God? Jonah ran from God, so God chased after Jonah with a storm that threatened to sink his ship. The storm was God's grace that forced Jonah to change his mind and heart toward both God and people. The God who loves us will chase us with the storm of His grace!
