My INTERVIEW this week is with Guest,Terry Tucker, an extraordinary man and cancer warrior who has chosen to live a healthy and fulfilling life even in the face of imminent death. Terry’s greatest life challenge first came to light in 2012. What initially appeared as an insignificant looking callous on the base of his foot, turned out to be something far more sinister. The diagnosis was as a rare form of cancer called Acral Lentiginous Melanoma.  In his written biography Terry says the one thing he has learned through all his pain and suffering is that:  “You have two choices in life.

Our interview is Phil Mew's recollection of 1976 onward to having his parents pass away suddenly in a 10 week period to what next.  Feelings as a child both him and his brother were under the age of 10 and his older brother had to get out of the house and help out too.

The Orphan Boys in 1976, the hottest summer for a generation and life was perfect for the two young brothers Philip and Roger. They lived an idyllic life on a farm in the picturesque dales of the north of England. With their days spent on the farm, playing on Tarzan swings, building dens and swimming outside, their perfect existence was plunged into darkness when tragedy struck the family. Within a ten week period, the boys lost their parents and were left orphans.

This is the story of Philip and his brother Roger, how their grandparents stepped in to bring them up and how a family and community came together to deal with the consequences that the devastation of death had left behind. Orphan Boys is not a misery memoir, it's a story full of love, strength and hope. This book is an uplifting tale of a family's survival and how they faced the huge challenges that life threw at them.

Hiding as a Cocaine Dealer

Our dynamic show this week is about a Cocaine dealer In the early 1980s, Craig Brown worked for one of the biggest cocaine dealers on the east coast. Not surprisingly, he also got "sucked up into the drug world and the pit of hell," as he puts it. He's now 35 years clean and has served the past 22 years as a Recovery Pastor, where he "helps thousands of people, including business owners and professional leaders, to find the healing and freedom from shame in Christ that delivers us from pain, guilt, and shame."

Pastor Craig's also recently released a book, Stop Hiding Start Healing: How a Top Drug Dealer Found Freedom from Addiction. The book chronicles his journey from the depths of addictions to helping others, and he is quick to point out the book is not just about his journey. It's also about how he's "reached thousands of others lost in the pit of addiction and pain."

Taking the Taboo out of Death, can be serious or descriptive. You just never know what you might come across.  Because Why?  Because it is a topic that everyone avoids, everyone pretends life is actually different than it really is. Why? Because we think we are invincible- we are superman - we don't want to think about the WHAT IF?
