Why do we constantly need Validation of our Self Worth?
Why are we obsessed with seeking approval from others?
Some people need constant validation and approval from others because they're not confident in their own abilities. They're always looking for external validation to feel good about themselves. This can be especially true if they have low self-esteem
Many people are always seeking advice or a sense of confirmation from those many people out there such as family members, friends, social media and so called great experts to give us a feeling of security or self-worth.
Often many of us are faced with bigger dilemmas when we allow ourselves to depend on those many others to rule our judgements and life decisions.
Ask yourself the question? How often have things actually gone wrong in your lives because you were completely dependent on other peoples judgements or advice?
How often have you asked yourself the question why you ignored your own instinctive feelings at that moment and sought out the answers or confirmation from those others around you just to make sure and then completely ignored your own true answers within you that might have saved you a lot of blood, sweat and tears in the long run!
Why have we lost the ability to look within ourselves for the answers? When basically the answers lie deep within us. We just need to get back to our roots. Follow our true instincts just like in the animal kingdom. Normally your past mistakes that keep on repeating themselves in the present will tell you what decisions to make , but we have lost this connection to ourselves.
When you’re driven to achieve solely because you want to impress others, you wind up doing too much, feeling overwhelmed, getting lost in your thoughts about your challenges, people-pleasing, overworking, avoiding making time for yourself, and constantly finding yourself unable to say no.
How do I stop relying on others for self worth? And how To Stop Seeking Approval From Others
2. Stop comparing yourself with others.
3. Be aware of your actions.
5. Don't measure yourself on the basis of social media likes.
6. Replace that nasty voice in your head.
7. Surround yourself with positive people.
8. Check the accuracy of your beliefs.
9. Stop trying to please everyone out there.
11. Try to understand why you are constantly seeking approval from others.
13. Keep your goals realistic.
14. Write down at least 5 accomplishments at the end of the day.
This is why it’s important to focus on how your need for approval and validation of self-worth is holding you back from doing tasks that are important to you. Once you move past this, you’ll be free to achieve and create what you want in life with much less stress, because you won’t be so consumed with worrying about what others think of you.
It is your life so make the most of it!
