Celtics Beat

How bout them Boston Celtics? Better than you anticipated, huh?

The Celtics have gotten off to a respectable start at 3-5.  For them.  And Larry H. Russell is here to talk about it.

Two very special guests will join Celtics Beat.  The first is Adam Kaufman, he of his very own Boston Celtics podcast - Celtics @ 7, as well as boston.com.  Adam and LHR will talk about the Celtics and their two tough losses to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers this week.  Is it time to become concerned over all these blown leads? Who’s responsible for it? And what the heck is up with this defense? What defense?

LHR will also welcome back Eddie Johnson to the show.  The 17-year NBA veteran is the Phoenix Suns color commentator for FOX Sports Arizona.  LHR will preview the Celtics tilt with the Phoenix Suns on Monday with Eddie. Don't be surprised if there's some bonus conversation in there with the colorful Eddie Johnson as well.

And yes, LHR will have time for Around the NBA in 5.

The 2014-15 NBA season is more than underway and things have gotten off to a rocky start for the Boston Celtics.  It doesn’t get any easier as they head into a matchup with one of the best teams in the league -- the Chicago Bulls.

Hosts Jared Weiss and “Stats” Adam Lowenstein will look back at the week that was for the Boston Celtics.  While the team may not be playing well record wise, some individual performances have stood out, most notably Rajon Rondo.  Is this a precursor to a lengthy career with the Celtics or is he just inflating his trade value?

Jared will sit down with Jay King of Mass Live to preview tonight’s game in Chicago. Do the Celtics stand a chance? Jared and Jay will discuss tonight’s game, the state of the team, and more in their conversation.

There’s a lot going on around the league too.  As always, Around the NBA in 5 is a Celtics Beat staple and Jared and Adam will offer their takes on the key storylines surrounding the Association.

Here we go: the 2014-15 NBA season is upon us.  In this special edition NBA preview show for 2015, host Larry H. Russell will stick his neck out there and look into his crystal ball for a prognosis on the Boston Celtics and the NBA in the coming eight months.

LHR won’t be alone.  Special guest Ryan McNeill of HoopsAddict.com will stop by to preview this coming NBA season as well.  Ryan is a credentialed member of the media covering the Toronto Raptors up in the Air Canada Centre, so Ryan will share his thoughts and insights with LHR and the Celtics Beat audience.

Are the Celtics really going to be as bad as LHR feels they will be? What would this mean for Brad Stevens’ future? The Larry O’Brien Trophy: Is it really Cleveland’s to lose? Where will the challenge come from out West? And what about lottery reform? Is it a good or bad thing that it went down the drain? LHR discusses this with Ryan and more as they preview the 2015 NBA season on this special edition show of Celtics Beat.

And it wouldn’t be a special edition show without a special edition of Around the NBA in 5.  LHR tackles some of the CLNS Radio’s NBA beat staff’s bold predictions on the 2014-15 NBA campaign.
