May 11, 2019Celtics Talk Radio Episode 238 The End of the 2018/2019 Celtics SeasonThe Celtics 2018/2019 season has officially come to an end. The season that many had the Celtics possibly being the team to compete against the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals ended up with them losing in 5 games in the 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs to the best team in the league the Milwaukee Bucks. This season could easily be described as a roller coaster as the Celtics had stretches of playing on a high level then follow it by a stretch of playing at a low level. From reports of the older players pointing fingers at the younger players when the team lost which resulted in the younger players retaliating feeling they needed to defend themselves. To the younger players feeling disrespected by the veterans being given the starting spots over them and feeling last years playoff run entitled them to start over the veteran players like Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. So now with the season over the questions now begin. What will Danny Ainge do to improve this roster before the 2019/2020 season. Will he manage to resign Kyrie Irving or will Kyrie walk away from the Celtics? Have we see the last of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown in a Celtics uniform as many rumors said back in February they could be dealt to New Orleans for All-Star big man Anthony Davis? What about Terry Rozier who many reports say was the most unhappiest in the locker room as he felt he deserved to start over Kyrie Irving have we seen the end of his time in Boston? We will discuss these questions and give our thoughts on the season overall as well as let you hear what the players and head coach Brad Stevens said in their final interviews of the season. We will also look to next weeks Draft Lottery and its impact on the Celtics plans for this summer. We will be joined by Bobby Krivitsky (@BobbyKrivitsky on twitter) of Bleacher Report. May 07, 2019Celtics Talk Radio Episode 237 The Celtics on the brink of EliminationAnother game another loss for the Boston Celtics in their playoff series with the Milwaukee Bucks and now the Celtics season could very well be over even though its not officially over. The Celtics lost game 4 113-101 despite getting both Aron Baynes and Marcus Smart back from injury. The Celtics got poor performances from Kyrie Irving, Al Horford and Jayson Tatum as combined they shot 21 of 52 (40% from the floor). Yet despite the 3 top players for the Celtics having bad night the Celtics starting lineup of Irving, Tatum, Brown, Morris and Horford outscored their Milwuakee counterparts 94 to 81 with. However the Celtics bench despite adding Marcus Smart and Aron Baynes to the group got dominated by thier Milwaukee counterparts by the amount of 32 to 7. Kyrie Irving at the end of the game walked off the floor before the buzzard sounded cameras saw him walking on his own to the Celtics locker room and many can now wonder if this was the last game for Kyrie Irving in a Boston Celtics uniform at the TD Garden and if he has just 1 more game left in a Celtics uniform overall which would be game 5 in Milwaukee. Daniel and Igor will not have any special guest tonight they will do a short version of the show today for 2 hours just to recap game 5 and discuss what they think in regards to whether or not the season is over or if they feel the team has a chance to make that historic comeback. Also is it right to give all the blame to Kyrie Irving who has now played 3 poor games straight in this series but give all the other Celtics a pass like most fans are doing. So join us Tuesday evening at 4pm Eastern Time...more2h 14minPlay
May 01, 2019Celtics Talk Radio Episode 236 Celtics and Bucks are tied 1-1 going to game 3The Celtics and Bucks have now played 2 games in their best 4 out of 7 game Eastern Conference Semi Finals Matchup. In game 1 the Celtics shocked the Milwaukee Bucks and many of the NBA experts by blowing out the NBA best regular season team 112-90 to take a 1-0 series lead and snatch the home court advantage away. The even bigger shocker was the Celtics being able to hold Milwaukee Bucks Superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in check as many thought he would dominate the Celtics in route to a quick series and a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. Many experts after seeing game 1 were willing to admit that the series would be over if they didnt win game 2. In game 2 the Bucks would respond as both Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum both struggled. The Bucks would give the Celtics a taste of their own medicine in game 2. In game 1 the Celtics swarmed Giannis everytime he had the ball forcing the Bucks role players to get the job done and they failed. In game 2 the Bucks swarmed Giannis forcing him to not get into a groove and him to give the ball up and Irving never got on track. Jayson Tatum in both games 1 and 2 never appeared to get on track and in game 2 was thoroughly outplayed by Middleton and the Bucks blewout the Celtics 123-102 tieing the series 1-1. Now the Celtics and Bucks have 2 days off as game 3 is scheduled for Friday night in Boston then game 4 is scheduled for Monday night. We will be joined by Rich Conte (@richconte on twitter) of the @TechLifePod podcast and Matt Rury (@TeamGreenTruth on twitter) who is the host of the Celtics Post Game show for CLNS...more3h 55minPlay

March 31, 2019Celtics Talk Radio Episode 233 Celtics and Pacers battle for home courtThe NBA Playoffs are just under 2 weeks away and their is still a lot to be determined in the NBA Playoff Picture. Since our last show the Celtics have officially punched their ticket to the NBA Playoffs and now its all about what seed will the Celtics finish in and what the health status of their best players will be. The Celtics pretty much look like they are on a collision course for a 1st round matchup with the Indiana Pacers. The Celtics since our last show played 5 games. They lost at the Hornets before losing the very next night to the Spurs at home. 2 nights later the Celtics were victorious over the Cavaliers. The Celtics would then have 2 days off before taking on the Indiana Pacers at home in a preview of their potential 1st round matchup. Many believed that due to the Pacers not having their best player in Victor Oladipo that the Celtics would have it much easier against the Pacers then they did in the first 2 meetings. However that was not proven to be the case as the Celtics were given a major battle by the Pacers in a game that saw the Celtics win with a last second layup by Kyrie Irving. The win tied the Celtics with the Pacers in the standings while moving the Celtics while also clinching the tiebreaker for the Celtics via the guarantee that they would finish with the better conference record if the 2 teams were to finish tied come the end of the season. The very next night the Celtics would be in Brooklyn to take on the Nets. We will also take a look at the final 5 game stretch and discuss what Brad Stevens and the team must do in order to make sure everyone is in tip top shape and 100% ready for the playoffs. The Celtics after the game announced Baynes would miss 4 ot 6 weeks of action with the playoffs 3 weeks away. Things early in the 3rd quarter got worse for the Celtics as Marcus Smart and Joel Embiid got into it as Joel Embiid knocked Marcus Smart to the ground resulting in Marcus Smart retaliating and shoving Embiid to the ground which caused Embiid to get up and charge at Smart the refs intervened and ejected Smart while allowing Embiid to continue to play. Their first game saw them play Lebron James and the Lakers. The Celtics were victorious 120-107 over their greatest rivals. March 09, 2019Celtics Talk Radio Episode 230 Celtics blowout Warriors in Golden StateOn our last show the Celtics had just endured a 1-4 stretch losing to the Bucks, Bulls, Raptors and Blazers before knocking off the Wizards. Since then the Celtics have played 3 games. First they were at home as they welcomed the Rockets. The Celtics in the 1st half got dominated by the Rockets and were booed off the court by the TD Garden Crowd as it was obvious the effort was not being given. The Celtics managed to make a run in the 2nd half and got the game to single digits before ultimately falling off late and losing 115-104. The next day it was being reported that Kyrie Irving was upset and fed up with the losing and was growing distant from his teammates and others in Celtics managment. The Celtics would then head out on a 4 game road trip which started in Golden State against the Warriors. The Celtics got thier biggest win of the season with a wire to wire win 128-95. The Celtics looked more like a real team with a ton of ball movement. Everyone celebrating their teammates making big plays, and even coming to the defense of teammates as Aron Baynes was laid out by Demarcus Cousins who then had some words for Baynes while he was down on the floor resulting in Jayson Tatum and Terry Rozier both going after Cousins in defense of Baynes.
