  • Ken Shelton - Songs for My Family - Audio
Sunday, July 28, 2024 - Today marks the end of a busy and beautiful summer Venetian festival week here in Charlevoix. We are excited to have a special guest joining us. Ken Shelton, a singer/songwriter, author, and pastor from Brighton, Michigan, will be performing and speaking from his latest album, "Legacy - Songs for My Family." Ken was my family's pastor for approximately 18 years while we lived in Brighton, and he served as a mentor to us during that time. Sit back, enjoy his music, and be inspired and challenged by his message about creating a "legacy" for your family. You won't want to miss this service. (We apologize the background track wasn't up a little)

  • 2 Peter - Making our Calling and Election Sure - PDF
Sunday, July 21, 2024—We are continuing our study of 2 Peter. Today’s message is titled “Making our Calling and Election Sure.” Peter continues to discuss the importance of every person “making every effort” to grow in the 7 major characteristics of God in order to protect us from becoming unproductive and ineffective in the Kingdom, and most importantly, to be welcomed by God into His eternal Heavenly Kingdom. To do this, we must “abide” in Christ. Read John 15 and study what it means to abide in Christ. Then, ask yourself some questions to see if you are abiding in Him or if you are at risk of detaching yourself from the vine. As we follow through on our walk with Christ, we are making our “calling and election” sure, and in doing so, we are building a solid and strong foundation that will help us persevere to the end with patient obedience. Worship and study with us!

  • Who Can Be Saved? - Audio
Sunday, July 7, 2024, Pastor Leland Hart, a retired AG pastor from Dallas, Texas, will deliver a sermon titled "Who Can Be Saved." Pastor Leland and his wife Kathy spend their summers in God's Northern Country, and we are fortunate to have them as part of Center Point Assembly. Pastor Leland challenges us in his message to consider who Jesus came to save. We all have biases and judgments towards certain people based on personality differences or, worse yet, because of evil actions they may have committed. Pastor Leland asks us: Can a person commit such evil acts that God cannot forgive them? This message will help you answer this basic but most important question. Maybe this is something that you have wondered about other people or maybe even yourself. Join us for worship and study.

  • 2 Peter - Everything We Need for Life and Godliness - PDF
Sunday, June 30, 2024, we continued our study on 2 Peter, focusing on the theme "Everything We Need for Life and Godliness." Our main emphasis is on the significance of establishing a strong foundation rooted in a deep understanding of God that leads to a relationship with God rooted in love. During Peter's time, there was a rise in false teachings propagated by individuals promoting a "secret" knowledge they believed was essential for salvation. This false teaching, known as "Gnosticism," propagated the belief that the physical realm was corrupt while the spiritual realm was pure. From this comes some serious concerns regarding how we deal with sin and temptation regarding how we deal with spiritual matters. Despite containing elements of truth, these teachings were ultimately deceptive and misleading, not aligning with biblical truth but rather derived from the deceit of Satan. What we find is that Gnosticism takes on forms in our beliefs today. That's why we must be on guard. This message serves as a prelude to the upcoming teachings by Peter as we progress through his writings. We invite you to worship and study with us.

  • 2 Peter - Growing in Grace and Peace - PDF
Sunday, June 23, 2024 – We are beginning a new study on the 2nd letter of Peter, addressing the believers scattered around Asia Minor and to us today. The message's title is "Growing in Grace and Peace." The focus on the first two verses of this first chapter is on the importance of developing a solid foundation on the "Rock" of our salvation to withstand the storms of life. Peter understands that as the end times draw near and false teaching increases, life will get more difficult and confusing. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, he instructs his readers on the necessity of growing in our knowledge of God so that God’s Grace and Peace may grow within us. It’s only as our knowledge of God is converted into a “relationship” with God that God’s Grace can grow into Peace that guards and protects. Join us for worship and study.
