Center Point Assembly

Sunday, August 25, 2024 – We continue our study of 2 Peter, focusing today on the theme of "God’s Righteous Judgment & Mercy.” Peter is careful to reveal God’s stance on sin, particularly the sin of being a false teacher or prophet, which has far-reaching consequences. God does not show favoritism toward any wrongdoer, be they angelic or human. We will also explore Lucifer's origin as the "guardian cherub" and how pride led to his downfall and the subsequent downfall of humanity. Join us in worship and study, and be prepared to be challenged, encouraged, and blessed.

Sunday, August 18, 2024—Today, we start the second chapter of 2 Peter, titled “Warnings of False Teachers.” Peter warns that there were false prophets and teachers in his time and that there will also be in our time. People need to know this because false teachings often start with an element of truth but then twist it into something false. This can be extremely dangerous because the deviation from truth may be very subtle. As a result, as per scripture, many people will lose their love and end up on a destructive path. Join us in worship and study to focus on God’s truth and protect ourselves from the enemy's snares.

Sunday, August 11, 2024 – The title of the message is “The Authority of God’s Word.” This means that the Bible is true, unchanging, and is the very Word of the Creator God. It represents God's character, message, and instructions for mankind to live by, regardless of time or place. Peter provides a strong argument for trusting the Word of God as the only true and reliable source of information. By studying and understanding its teachings, we can combat the falsehood and deception spread by those against God. We must trust and apply what God instructs us to be found faithful upon His return or when we face mortality. If you want to hear God say, “Well done thou good and faithful,” then strive to be good and faithful today. Worship and study with us.

Sunday, July 28, 2024 - Today marks the end of a busy and beautiful summer Venetian festival week here in Charlevoix. We are excited to have a special guest joining us. Ken Shelton, a singer/songwriter, author, and pastor from Brighton, Michigan, will be performing and speaking from his latest album, "Legacy - Songs for My Family." Ken was my family's pastor for approximately 18 years while we lived in Brighton, and he served as a mentor to us during that time. Sit back, enjoy his music, and be inspired and challenged by his message about creating a "legacy" for your family. You won't want to miss this service. (We apologize the background track wasn't up a little)
