In Joshua chapter 4 the people of God finally set foot in the Promised Land. In this message we dig deep into the call of God on them to memorialize this move across the Jordan and what the meaning and message is to us today.
After receiving an incredible report from the two spies Joshua had sent into the land, the people make their way to the Jordan river. But before they cross they're given specific instructions on how to follow the Lord into this new land. In this sermon we'll look at how the leading of Jesus works in our lives and how we can position ourselves to be lead by Him throughout our lives.
Before heading across the Jordan River as a nation Joshua sends two spies into the land. They immediately fail in their mission but God rushes to meet them anyway. Through a woman named Rehab they experience the provision, presence, and grace of their God.
After being commissioned by the Lord to lead with strength and courage Joshua finally steps into his new role. As he does we'll remind ourselves of the reasons behind his strength and courage. We'll notice the renewal that takes place under new leadership and watch as the people of Israel respond to all that's taken place so far.
We begin a new series on the book of Joshua. In this kick of message we consider who Joshua was and what God told him as he took over leadership of the Jewish people upon the death of Moses.
The resurrection of Jesus can be ignored, written off, rejected, or considered. In this sermon we will consider the resurrection from the perspective of a small group of women who went to the tomb expecting to find a corpse but instead found hope, life, and joy.
There's something we all share, our love of access. This Good Friday message unpacks the access granted to all people by way of Jesus' work on the cross.
On this Palm Sunday we take time to notice four characteristics of Jesus in the lead up to the cross: what type of King was Jesus, what kind of power did He display, what kind of trust did He hold and how did He secure our salvation?
In this sermon, we follow one of the themes that we have been tracing throughout the book of Matthew (the envy of the religious leaders towards Jesus) to its final conclusion as demonstrated through Jesus' trial before Pilate. In so doing, we see both a warning and an invitation for us, today, culminating in our final question: Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?
