As I have been coaching women the past few years, I have learned CONFIDENCE is a key piece in a successful business. And it is often a big struggle for us women. Did you know the more you know about who you are, the more confident you become? When you know why you do what you do you question why you’re not like others less! Learning about yourself is kinda magical. It is a HUGE mind shift when we do things in alignment with who we are rather than what people want us to do! There are a million ways to do everything. Motherhood. Business. Work. Laundry. Etc. But there aren’t so many ways to do everything that matches YOUR personality. Your core desires. Your core fears. When we lean into what’s best for us by KNOWING what’s best for us, we can make decisions that feel good. Instead of being shamed, guilted or peer-pressured into what we do. That’s where Enneagrams come in…again! I know there’s SO many different personality tests but I have come to love enneagrams. The enneagram test helps you understand your core desires, fears and the essence of who you are. Its not just a personality box. There are so many moving parts (wings, lines, growth, stress, subtypes, etc) I see it all the time, moms are trying to fit into a box but they don’t fit into a box because they’re a circle! Knowing your enneagram will help you understand yourself and others better. It really helps strengthen ALL relationships.
It was about a year ago when Instagram released Reels to compete with TikTok, and then in the spring, Instagram said they are no longer a photo sharing app. Instagram is constantly changing and its made it so hard for creators like you and me to feel seen. I've had so many requests to do an episode on the Instagram updates and how to optimize them because its BEYOND confusing. So today we have an overdue guest on the podcast, @IAmMIchelleGifford, to help us navigate all the changes, how to do Reels and all that's good about Reels. So Michelle is going to simply walk us through it and make Reels feel doable. You don't have to dance or point and that's totally fine. You can figure out your own strategy of how to use Reels. To put it bluntly, if you want to maximize the Instagram updates, USE REELS! You have so much capacity to grow with Reels, find out how with Michelle's 5 Hot Tips for rocking the Instagram updates. Sign up for Michelle's Rock the Reels Challenge, text 'Instagram' to 951-309-7885. It's a 5-day challenge where Michelle gives you videos of how to do videos and everyday a new idea of a reel to create. “Stop doing the things that don’t fulfill you.” I saw this quote on Facebook and knew I had to talk about it on the podcast. Because this is something BIG that I learned after years of being a business owner and a mom, and because when you learn something good you want to share it with others! You don’t have to feel stuck. You can start doing the things that fulfill you. I have to listen to my energy when I’m in a burnout or going through a rut, feeling drained and feeling like I don’t want to go to work because there’s a specific project or client that just isn’t fulfilling me and I just don’t want to do it. It's bringing my energy level down and as soon as I cut out that piece of work that’s pulling me back, I’m productive and excited to work. So what is your energy telling you? I talk about some of my own life examples in the podcast to get you thinking, but I want you to think right now: what are some things you’re doing only because others are doing it? Then pay attention to your energy levels: what makes you feel drained, burnt out or feel like you don’t want to work anymore? Pay attention to your energy and do the things that make you feel excited or alive. Try to fill your time with things that are closer to your purpose and let go of things that are draining you. Until I learned how to say no and let go of draining things, I was not aligned in my purpose or what I really wanted to do. You don’t have to feel stuck and we can work through good solutions. Your energy will be restored and you will find your purpose.
This topic may not relate to moms and business all that much, but it's actually something I get asked about most. How to afford trips, how to travel with kids and how to work around the kids’ school. I have found that traveling is my reset, my way to get out of a rut and push through the burn out that I get from work, so I make it a priority. Traveling has always been part of my family culture. Money was tight growing up but we always made it a priority because we were in Washington and visiting family required us to come to Utah. My family would road trip across the country multiple times a year, even without dad, and traveling has just always been part of my childhood, so that’s why it’s so important to me now. Traveling may not be as valuable to you, but this episode will still include helpful travel tips and hopefully help you understand the value of getting out of the house for a little adventure every once in a while.
I’m gonna be honest and straight up. Your husband is not going to make your business work. Only you can do that. It’s time to stop relying on him to make your business succeed. This podcast is coming from months of working with women who have A LOT OF RESISTANCE from their husbands. And it's even coming from my own experiences of trying to balance the relationship between me, my business and my husband. Running a business with someone who is not supportive is HARD and being a working mom is HARD. There’s so many layers to this, not just one or two, so I have been thinking all summer about how I was going to work in this topic. It's hard being a mom, it's hard being a working mom and it's even harder if you’re relying on your husband to make it all work. So let’s talk about making the relationship easier between you, your husband and your business...
I work with women EVERY DAY and I have learned the BIGGEST thing holding them back is THEMSELVES!!! Our own limiting beliefs are 95% of most of the issues in our businesses. If we feel we’re not successful enough due to not enough followers or income or clients, or if we feel like we’re doing everything we can, investing in courses and workshops, and still feel we’re not going anywhere, it's likely because of limiting beliefs that we don’t even know are there! That is why I created an entire course on awareness, confidence, systems, goal setting and more to help women push through their OWN blocks and lean into what they're being called to do. This week's podcast is a sneak peek into how to reframe limiting beliefs. Now you’re probably like, “wait, Kylee, I’m not sure I totally get what a limiting belief is.” Put simply, limiting beliefs are fears and doubts that prevent us from going after big dreams. They take away our power and they are acquired over time. Like I said before, sometimes we don’t even know they’re there. The key is to recognize them and reframe them. This podcast will teach you how!
In my decade of being an entrepreneur, I’ve always prayed about my business and acted on promptings that follow. This pattern is a major way I've been able to grow my business and do things differently than mentors, because I am looking for how to follow my own path or how to be who I, Kylee Maughan, am meant to be. I know not everyone here is religious or even goes to the same church as me, so the title of this podcast might take you off guard a little bit. But today I am just feeling really inspired to say that I know God cares about your business. He cares about you, what you care about, he knows your business and cares about your business. I have seen my business become than I could ever imagine with God on my team. He has put me in all the right places for me to see miracles and for me to help others. I have come to understand that God is the CEO of my business and I am really just the steward.
Today we’re going to talk about another way to get on top of fall craziness, from routines to charts to peak organization. *Enneagram 1 Alert* Fall is usually so busy for me. It makes my summer look like a cake walk. I got school schedules, sports schedules, dance schedules, photo schedules and work schedules. If I don't have a routine, this can all get out of hand really fast. I’m going to walk you through what back to school looks like at my house because I know I’m not the only mom out there juggling all these schedules. I’ve found a good system for me and maybe you’re looking for a better way to stay on top of your back to school, so hopefully this episode will give you some inspo. But not everything I do will work for you so adapt it to your family! BALANCE IS ALL ABOUT 1. Setting a schedule 2. Setting priorities 3. Setting expectations 3. Outsourcing
