You asked and I answered! How do you make adult female friends? I know it may seem silly. But I KNOW it’s something everyone has struggled with at some point. Maybe it’s when you moved to a new neighborhood or maybe it happened when you entered a new phase of adulthood and didn’t relate with your group of friends anymore. Or maybe it’s when you started the SAHM gig. It may feel weird to be a 30 year old woman trying to make friends, and even asking for help on how to do it, but it’s okay! You’re in a different phase of life and you don’t have opportunities like you did before. You always had good friendships when you were younger because you were always around other people. Going to class, going to all the football games, staying out late on weekends to get pizza. Opportunities were everywhere to make all the friends. Right now it may feel impossible or hard to find a good group of friends, and again, that’s pretty normal. I promise the way you’re feeling is the way a lot of other women are feeling too. So it really isn’t that silly to talk about it. Reality is, the ball is in your court. You can’t wait for someone to invite you to things or ask if you want to be their friend. This may be a tough pill to swallow, but YOU have to make the first move if you want friends! For years I struggled with finding a good group of adult friends, and I’m here sharing all the things I learned about making adult friends…
So here is my unpopular opinion: budgets are not the best. I mean, they’re not entirely bad. They’re just not my favorite. And here’s why: budgets just feel restricting. When you look at a budget there’s guilt, shame, frustration and desperation. And all those feelings just lead to a bad relationship with money. So today, I want you to change your mindset and consider using a money plan instead of a budget to reach your life goals. And right now you’re probably thinking, “But Kylee! Budgeting is the silver bullet of personal finances, you can’t just throw it out the window! And what the heck is a money plan anyway?” A money plan is just about making extra income to reach your goals, rather than penny pinching and saving up with the leftover money you have in your budget. With a money plan, there’s empowerment, excitement, hope, action, and inspiration. Good feelings around money. If I budgeted for a $4000 hot tub, it would take me $333 a month for a year BUT if I used a money plan, I could figure out what else I can offer or do to increase my monthly income, I can do it in less than 4 weeks. Going after income goals is MUCH more fulfilling than penny pinching to reach your dream life. I break it all down in today's episode!
If you’re someone who's struggling with time management, sticking to one thing, not finishing your tasks, or feeling accomplished at the end of the day - this episode is FOR YOU! I have a lot of systems in my life and have a really specific system for my daily/weekly schedule. I have done all the calendars, reminders and scheduling techniques but I have found that time blocking works really well for me. Time blocking is one of the most effective time management techniques. A lot of successful people use it, like Bill Gates and Elon Musk. It’s all about dividing out your day or week into blocks of time, and dedicating each block to just one specific activity. I love this quote: “While a standard to-do list tells you what you want to do, time blocking tells you when you’re going to do it.” Time blocking will increase your productivity by leaps and bounds, and help you feel more accomplished at the end of the day. Because you’re dividing your schedule into single tasks rather than multitasking all the things on your schedule! You'll be amazed by what you accomplish in a day using time blocking. This will simplify your to-do list and make life so much easier. Try it out this week and let me know what difference it made in your life!
For about 8 out of the 11 years of running a business, I was scared to hire a coach. I invested a LOT into online classes, courses, in person workshop and conferences. And I learned a lot. But I was still afraid to work one on one with someone. I didn’t want people to see behind the scenes. To question me. I was nervous what they would think of me if they saw it all. FINALLY, several years ago I started investing in coaching. Letting people into my inner thoughts. The good, bad and ugly. And the growth has been out of this world. Each week I would meet with my coach, and be accountable for the goals I set the week before. I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about “pulling a Kylee.” I always recommend you GO TO WORK on your big idea without asking your mom, friend, husband if it’s a good idea. I want you to lean into your intuition and not let other people’s doubts cloud that. For years I was really good at this. But I was ALSO good at not telling ANYONE my next big idea. Not just because I didn’t want the naysayers to ruin my vibe. But also, I was afraid of the big things not working out. Living in smallness. Once I started letting people in, I started setting bigger goals and hitting them. Making 10k, 20k, 30k and 50k months consistently. Today I want to talk about using accountability partners in your business. So first, what is an accountability partner? It’s pretty simple. It’s a partner who is willing to hold you accountable. The idea is that when you tell someone besides just yourself you have more incentive to get it done. Think about it. When you tell yourself you’re going to take the kids to do something fun and don’t do it, it’s whatever. You can do it tomorrow. But when you told your kids you were going to do something fun, you basically have to. It’s just like that. Having an accountability partner is a big big game changer. 1. Makes you responsible to someone besides yourself. 2. You are making a daily commitment to yourself and business. Which helps you stay on track. Even when you’re not motivated. 3. This dramatically increases your chance to succeed. “When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.” Thomas S Monson 4. Create deadlines for yourself 5. Gives you a chance to learn from others
ALL THE TIME. I practice mindfulness because I love how it grounds me. But I am not a meditation expert in any way. Because you hear me talk about meditation and mindfulness, probably in every other episode, I figured getting an actual expert on the podcast was much needed. Megan is a meditation and mindfulness teacher and she coaches women on how to find greater peace and presence in their busy lives. The cool thing about Megan is that she is realistic about the busy mama life. She gets that it’s probably going to be impractical for you to sit next to a river in your yoga pose doing the “ohmming” for an hour everyday. Because practicing mindfulness is so so important, Megan believes that there is a middle ground for normal human beings like you - who have to get things done and don’t have an hour every date to meditate. Listen for all of Megan's tips and tricks to stay present with your kiddos in the middle of your busy life! FIND MEGAN HERE Podcast - Getting Present with Megan Instagram.com/gettingmindfulwithmegan

I talk a lot about being a burned out mom and wanting to find greater fulfillment through working, here on the podcast. But I don’t talk a lot about already being a working mom, then going to full-time momhood, and then going back to a full-time career a few years later after the kids are grown up. I just think there are a good amount of moms out there who are confused after stepping away from a career and wondering how to get back into the industry. Maybe you're one of them! So today I have Tracey Pontarelli (@coachtracy_p) to talk all about that shift in motherhood. And she gives FOUR WAYS to simply honor where you're at and to stay present. Tracey is a former marketing and branding professional turned multiple six-figure wellness entrepreneur, business and mindset coach. She loved loved loved her career but the hours didn’t blend well with her family life. She wanted greater flexibility and ended up transitioning to a full-time mom, but still wanted a fun and rewarding career a couple years later. As her three children began to grow, Tracey tapped into her love of wellness, and skills as a brand marketer, to build a successful wellness business. Key to her success has been understanding the powers of attraction marketing and positive mindset and being very intentional in everything she does. She now coaches frustrated moms how to build a profitable online income without sacrificing their priorities - by being authentic, deliberate and magnetic. Listen for the FOUR THINGS she does to go along with the ebb and flow of mom life! FIND TRACEY HERE: instagram.com/coachtracey_p traceypontarelli.com
