We’re back!! Bringing back this podcast is what I was looking forward to the most this summer. I’m so excited to connect with you again, thank you for your comments and likes because that helps me to be in-tune with where YOU are and what YOU need. So scroll down at the bottom of the page and leave a review about what you think about the podcast or the episode! For this first episode, I want to talk about resetting. Because summer is crazy and chaotic. Our summer was camping trips, to family coming to town, to more camping trips, to holidays, to more family. And now that my kids are settled into school, I feel like I need to run run run to get caught up on all the things I haven’t been doing for my business. I know a lot of you are feeling the same way - running around in all this chaos. First of all, moms. You are rockstars. There is a lot of weight both physical and emotional on moms over summer and back to school. It can be a heavy load. THERE IS SO MUCH TO THINK ABOUT. Second, we cannot keep running. Today we're talking about taking a big RESET before moving on to the next thing. I use this in between vacations, new seasons, between big conversations, big work weeks. It's important to know how to RESET and RELEASE so you’re not carrying heavy, frazzled energy from one thing to another.
I LOVE SUMMMMMERR! And for that reason. I condense my summer work hours as MUCH as possible. I spent a lot of summers working a nights and weekend job which meant I missed out or came late to A LOT of family stuff. I dont want to do that anymore. I work REALLY hard a few days a week, so I can play play play the rest of the week. I want to be able to say yes to spontaneous playdates, sunny days at the pool, camping trips and any or all family time. What summer looks like for me: No podcasts I love you guys SO much. But I know you are busy mom bosses too. Limited 1:1 coaching Coaching fires my up like nothing else. But its also very time consuming. I decided to take half of what I normally do this summer and its been perfect. Delegating This summer I am delegating deep cleaning, laundry folding, lawn mowing, 70% of photography sessions, No jobs on weekends (Friday-Sunday when I can control it) and only 1 night a week MAX. I am limiting my schedule SOOO much. I know I will lose clients. But summer nights with my family mean so much to me! Packing 1-2 days a week with work I work HARD. Turnaround things fast. Pack my days. Sometimes I don’t even eat until my work day is over because I have sooo much to pound out. I like to work Monday and Wednesday. Goal: get out of the house every single day, and every single night. Hi, I’m Kylee and I’m a business coach for women! I specialize in helping women make money while still balancing their families. Lauren was THE FIRST person to apply to the #kmm, ALIGN, coaching program - like before I even launched it. She messaged me asking for some one-on-one time and it just happened to be around the time I was getting ready to launch my coaching program. That just shows how in-sync we are! And gaining that confidence is really what we focused on throughout our weeks together, because sometimes you may be doing all the things you’re supposed to be doing with marketing and investing in education - but you feel like you’re not going anywhere. Sometimes, all it takes is a mindset shift - to figure out what is holding you back and to work through all the self-doubt and negative beliefs you’ve been telling yourself. Lauren had all the tools in her toolbox, she was doing all the right things, and the only thing holding her back was her. We didn’t give her anything new, she already had it within her, we just gave her the tools to help her unleash her confidence. Lauren’s now aligned with her purpose which is something we are all striving for! I’ve noticed more and more that confidence is really what us mamas in business need. Not more followers or more classes or self-help books. Confidence. And what you don’t realize is that you already have it within you, it's just about discovering it. So I’m bringing Lauren on the podcast today to talk about getting past yourself, because you’re probably in the same situation or know someone who is. Amanda is owner of a product-based AND service-based business! She owns Amanda Clark Photography in Southern Utah and Cold Strike, an brand new outdoor apparel business. We've always been friends but in January she became one of my coaching girls! I LOVE coaching because it is more like guiding — not directing. When we first started coaching sessions, she was burnt out and even felt like it was time to quit photography. I was able to watch Amanda dive into what was causing her burn-out and help her completely pivot her business. Amanda discovered that she didn’t love photography as much as she loves the people. So now that we know what she is passionate about, we can shift her business to be more about the people. At the beginning of coaching, Amanda had a six-year old photography business. Now she has a six-year old photography business, a podcast, an associate photographer, a virtual assistant, an outdoor apparel business and three more instagrams. She has completely stepped into that CEO role (flawlessly, might I add) and does what she really loves every day, the managing and the executing and the negotiating. The people-side of things. Amanda wouldn’t have gotten to the bottom of her burn-out and found what she really loves to do without pushing past her limiting beliefs. She HAD to let go of these big fears. That’s why I love coaching. We were able to discover and work through limiting beliefs that she didn’t even know were there! Get all the juicy details in today's episode - going from burn out to CEO! You all know I am an enneagram one. If you’ve stuck around here long enough, you know my weird enneagram quirks. I am a chronic picker-upper and tireless cleaner. I might just be one of the very few people out there who puts the window cleaners, the carpet guys, the car washes and the professional deep cleaners on their stories. Having a clean house is very very important to me but I don’t do it because it's what other people expect when they come to my home. It's 100% for me. I care about me coming home at the end of a shoot or at the end of running errands and seeing a mess in the living room. But I am a busy busy person. I don’t have time to stay home all day to clean my house. You don’t have time to stay home all day to clean your house. We wear all these different hats and juggle all these different responsibilities, we just don’t have all the time to spend organizing and decluttering. We have to learn how to optimize so we can stay sane. So I’m sharing what I do to optimize my cleaning routines so you can feel like you’re on top of home-life even when life is busy!
A lot of people think they’ll get all their business just from Instagram and that’s how they’ll grow. That more followers and saved posts will make them successful. We get stuck in Instagram, just wanting to get to 10k and wanting to go “viral.". Yeah, you may get followers on the platform, but are any of them paying clients? Guys. You can't just rely on social media to grow. You have to remember that Instagram isn’t the only playing field out there. After six months of putting in my time with SEO, my business exploded. I was filling up my calendar with "stranger" clients who would find me on Google and I stopped relying on friends and family to get clients. I started from nothing and putting in my time with SEO really helped me grow, not Instagram or Facebook. I know SEO can seem overwhelming and confusing, but it is a POWERFUL tool to have your marketing arsenal. So, I thought it would be a good idea to bring Sadie Banks on to the podcast this week to help make SEO seem less scary. Sadie works for Manta, an online marketing company that helps businesses with their directories and SEO. She is an SEO and marketing guru, so there is no one better to help us break this down! Sadie gave us so many SIMPLE and EASY tips that you can do to build trust with Google, help you be successful in SEO and grow online. You never know which tip will transform your business. A lot of people in our lives, especially those closest to us, want things for free or at a discounted price. They just don’t value us like those stranger clients we usually book. We must figure out how to set boundaries so we don’t get walked over by the people closest in our life. I realized a while ago that I don’t have to people-please to be successful. I don’t have to serve everyone - from the last minute sessions-ers to the free shoot-ers - just to have clients, and from there I learned how to set boundaries with these people. I know we hate confrontation, I know we like to make everybody happy but at some point we have to draw that line and start caring about ourselves, our families and businesses and stop letting people take our time from clients that will actually value us and pay us what we’re worth. HOW TO SET BOUNDARIES 1. Start being up-front with others. 2. Stick to the rules and limits you set.
I’m learning that a lot of people struggle with how to be themselves on Instagram. How to be their authentic-selves and how to attract clients. You right now may be feeling like you’re not interesting enough, not bubbly enough or that your page isn’t funny enough. Because so and so’s page is so interesting and attracting tons of new followers but you’re just “boring.” When you compare yourself to others, that pressures you into acting like someone that is just not you. And that strategy won’t ever attract the people you truly want to attract. We want to be who our target audience wants us to be, but at the same time being 100% authentically yourself is the best marketing strategy. Clients will fall in love with you for YOU, not a fake or made up personality. The clients you truly want will love you for you and will love the things you love. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, whoever you are will attract people. And not just any kind of people, but the people you want surrounding you. You will attract people who love your personality or whatever you offer. You don’t have to make up a separate or fake personality just to get new clients! HOW TO BE YOURSELF ON INSTAGRAM: 1. Just be you 2. Practice until you're comfortable
