Despite the fact that we tend to fondly look at the past through rose tinted glasses, there are definitely things that have not aged well - whether they be racist, sexist or just relics from a bygone age.  In this episode, I touch on a few things that immediately come to mind.  (No Jello molds were harmed during the making of this podcast.)

Anxiety.  How ironic that, despite the fact that anxiety and panic attacks are now the "common cold of mental health issues" and experienced by millions, those who suffer from it feel so alone and isolated from the rest of the world.  Although it feels otherwise, anxiety is actually NOT a "bad" emotion.  It's just part of the collection of feelings we have as humans and it is actually there to protect us from perceived threats.  (Even though it occasionally overreacts or kicks up when least expected.)  Check out my latest podcast which delves into that well-meaning but pesky sidekick we call "anxiety."

This might ruffle some feathers but I feel it needs to be said.  While sending someone "thoughts and prayers" is nice, in some situations it is not enough.   

Our minds, much like the sea, are made up of noisy currents on the surface that can be transcended once we calmly venture beyond them.
