Champions...of Digression!

We drink Burnt Trailers and read Defenders #38! So just up top, I want to let you guys know that there were some technical issues and part of the audio for this show is pretty crappy. I did my best to mitigate the issue when I edited, but it's still pretty choppy. Sorry. That being said, this was a really fun issue! We loved it!

Could this issue be the end of our titular teenagers? Probably not. We read New Teen Titans #41. Topics include: Um...things; also, stuff. Look, I'm going to level with you, this one got away from us a little bit. I know we talked about TV theme songs a bit, and this Brother Blood guy seems like a real jerk, but the rest is kinda hazy. Enjoy! Enjoy!

Horticultural hijinks abound when Plant Man attacks! We take a look at Defenders #37. Topics include: the return of Luke Cage, Hulk breaks Namor's record, Plant Man hates getting punched in the dick, and Nebulon's clown cult has some pretty fun rides. All this plus an all new Hostess Snack Cake Theater! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Bloody Heck! We take a look at the startlingly sanguinary New Teen Titans #40! Topics include: lava talk, Hub's hazy recollection of the story of Paul, Gar continues to be the worst, and a surprising amount of Joe Walsh talk. All this, plus Brother Blood's marvelous mustache detector! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Killer plants, kung-fu neurosurgeons, and cosmic clown cults abound as our hosts take a look at Defenders #36! Topics include: Ring shaped breakfast foods, rogue paperboys, monkey blood, and misremembered bumper stickers. All this plus more nonsense than you can shake a prehensile beanstalk at! Enjoy! Enjoy! Dazzle!

Cory is back from the Diet Moxie dimension. He and Hub read New Teen Titans #39 in which Wally finally makes good on his threat/promise to quit the team! Topics include: Walrus fun facts, Hub hates goose related word problems, and why you shouldn't invite Robin to your wedding! All this plus an exciting fishing pole related business opportunity! Enjoy! Enjoy!

It's the first episode of our new show! Lisa and Hub read Howard the Duck's first appearance in Fear #19! After this episode, the show will be exclusively available to our patreon donors, so if you wanna make sure you get your fix, sign up at patreon.com/ttwasteland WAAAUGH!

Well, wouldn't you know it? Cory's stuck in an alternate dimension again. Fortunately, Hub is joined by his brilliant wife Lisa to discuss the Defenders/Howard the Duck team up from Marvel Treasury Edition #12! Topics include: Space Jam, deliberately derivative do-badders, the comic book Beowulf, and traumatic film experiences of our youth! All this, plus the launch of a new monthly podcast for our donors! WAAAUGH!

Put on your favorite vest and cue up the sax solo from Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street, because this issue is a 1980's detective story! Robin investigates Wonder Girl's past when we investigate New Teen Titans #38! Topics include: scavenger hunts, boom boxes, weird town names, and George Perez is the best! It's our third birthday! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Sweet sassy molassy! Our hosts take a look at the cerebellum swapping strangeness that is Defenders #35! Topics of discussion include: the unmitigated hubris of Bugles corn chips, a surprising amount of Yakov Smirnoff jokes, the benefits of hotboxing your mystical Tupperware, and whether lamprey eels make a good arm substitute. All this plus a new installment of Hostess Twinkie Theater Presents! Enjoy! Enjoy!
