  • Black Born Peer Pressure

    Send us a text

Growing up in the community where we’re from every day there is some form of peer pressure. There’s no grace or peace. The expectations are ridiculous and everything good is mostly frowned upon. If you’re smart and articulate you’re viewed as uncool, unpopular and sometimes a sellout. Running the streets seems like a mandatory task and playing with a girls mind and feelings earns you cool points. The police is our enemy, every other black person that is not from our paradox or block is deemed an enemy and both are treated as a threat. Being black is complicated because we lack guidance and support. Hopefully, one day we can change that narrative and make it cool to be our genuine selves.

  • Dear Black Women

    Send us a text

Dear Black Women,  this is an Omen to convey a special message to you all. We love and appreciate you. As black men our existence wouldn’t be without you. Time has torn us apart. Over and over we blame each other and stare at each other with such evil hearts. We’ve turned our backs on you and in return you’ve evolved into us but more sinister. Somewhere along the way we’ve forgotten about you sister. We have forgotten it was you with us throughout history bearing the burden with us. We have forgotten the way is to protect you and our children. We have forgotten it is and was because of you we were and are a great nation. By God through your womb we became many. We love and appreciate you sisters!

  • Under Pressure

Life isn’t always fair. A lot of times our wounds are self inflicted. Choosing the right person  isn’t always easy. And neither is surviving in today’s economy alone without working together with your significant other. To make provisions and provide is to be a man just as speaking life into and motivating your spouse is to be woman. Be careful and be mindful who you choose to be your person. Don’t be fooled by imagery, a jester isn’t a king and a street walker is not a wife.

  • 2 Different Times

    Send us a text

As adults, seldom do we say the new generation has it better than we did growing up. We often compare the two based on music, clothing, hairstyles, and even the ways in which we communicate. Truth is, having social media in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, would have been interesting to say the least. We were already out going but to have a tool that could reach all four corners of the globe would have changed many narratives. Yet and still, we seldomly give credit to the new generation and we’ve made it clear we’d definitely prefer our timeline.

  • Parenthood

    Send us a text

Changing for our children as parents is the most important thing we can do. Being present and consciously aware of traumas, bad behavior and interactions with our children is dire because our children need us functioning at full capacity. Love is an action word. You can’t love someone and not invest time into them. As parents it is our duty to be fully committed to our children’s development as well as their well being. It’s never too late to be a parent to your child. Would you rather spend your time watering your seed or would you rather spend your time in clubs hanging out with so called friends indulging in self destructive behavior?
Our children need guidance, love and attention to properly evolve into promising adults. Let’s not be selfish but be selfless. LOVE YOUR CHILD..

  • The Dysfunction

    Send us a text

Our community is plagued with a series of detrimental behaviors and ideologies but our lack of accountability is one of the worse traits. Men and women have become competitors, bashing and point fingers at one another. If we are to grow and evolve into who we really are meant to be we need to learn how to display sympathy, empathy and compassion towards one another. Life is about over coming the obstacles we’re born into so not to pass trauma down to our children. It’s dire we become the change we want to see in the world but most importantly, that we love on each other because we belong together.

  • Who does marriage benefit?

    Send us a text

Marriage is meant to benefit both individuals equally. Now as far as impact on each person it’s subjective. However we’ve been programmed to only think about ourselves, which marriage is the total opposite. The matrimony between man and woman is meant to be joyful while experiencing life together as one and also while balancing our differences in opinions. Individually no 2 people are alike they’ll always be one ahead of the curb as far as maturity, understanding, knowledge and wisdom. But where love is present patience also reign supreme.

  • The Right Man/Woman

    Send us a text

So many times we hear people say “I want the right person” when referring to having a significant other. No one ever really dissects what makes an individual the “right person” to be with in a relationship. That person may not come to you fully developed; lacking in some areas, yet still fitting most of the characteristics in which you’re seeking. They may need your help to develop and become the person you’re looking for. We don’t always get what we want. Sometimes we get what we need. Love isn’t judgmental more than it is inspirational. We should meet our partners where they are currently in life and motivate them to evolve into their greater selves. This is how we become the RIGHT person in someone’s life.

What’s life without purpose and what’s purpose without life. Often times people are afraid to admit they aren’t happy mentally and aren’t satisfied spiritually living their day to day lives. So many of us ignore our intuition our calling to be better to be greater than a hamster on a wheel. Before you can fly you must first soar but before anything you need faith to jump. Ms. Monique Rubaine a.k.a. Momo is a testament to having faith in God and in yourself.

A change we can believe in or at least hope for. Our communities lack so much especially leadership and hope. Mr. Brown is inspired to become a beacon of light, inspiration, and opportunity  to help restore our neighborhoods. Though many of our people have turned their backs on the hood, Mr. Brown believes he can restore it to become a prominent community. If we are indeed aspired to see change we must not be reluctant to do the necessary which is voting.
