Kids tend to mimic their parents it’s something most children growing up doing. Before there was the internet children would often do live skits portraying their parents screaming at them or disciplining them in some form or fashion. Today’s society has become judgmental and overly soft. We’ve lost humor but somehow managed to gain rights to assume the worse of people based on the content posted on social media. Maybe it’s time to bring back personality and humor!

An alpha by definition is a leader. Now the question remains are women leaders? Our response to this question should not be driven by emotion but purely common sense. In every pack there’s an appointed leader. Women can be Alpha's considering they too can be leaders. As men we need to recognize the women of today are not the women of yesterday. Society has evolved and so has our culture and the women. The sooner we recognize the strength of women along with their resilience the sooner we’ll come to recognize our strength as a people. A man is only as strong as the woman standing next to him. Let’s embrace change but not give up our masculinity.

Character is a very important trait in a person. You’re either someone who possess integrity or you don’t. This isn’t something you cannot fake nor purchase. Your words along with your actions will always shine a light on who they are behind close doors. In our community we tend to place more importance on money, material possessions, and high end cars rather than on the character of an individual. As a result we have completely lost our way.

Our community is far from a unified front. We criticize and hate each other while down talking one another. Why do we hate each other? Could it be it’s because we lack self love or is it because we were never taught to view others as we see ourselves? Our level of understanding and our lack of willingness to communicate is baffling. So many conflicting issues could be we resolved through conversation and proper communication. It's a choice we must make to better the future for the upcoming generation and beyond.

Raising kids is a difficult job. Raising kids alone as a single parent is challenging. Today’s kids have so many negative influences aside from friends and connotations deriving from direct peer pressure. As parents our job is more important than ever as well as tedious. Our kids need our guidance to be exemplified physically not just verbally do as I say. If we are to raised good human beings we have to embody what a good person is and make sure our children know as well as feel love from every level. Changing our community starts with changing ourselves then implementing our new mindset to our children.

How do we change tomorrow today? We start by investing in our youth. Our children are the future but only if we the adults do our share. We have to speak life into our children, raise them to be better people, even better than we are. Motivate them with our words and encourage them with action. By displaying acts of kindness, love, understanding, knowledge and wisdom. This episode is dear because what Atara Dallas is doing is putting our community first before herself, giving our children all of her but most importantly all  of her experiences as well. We have a lot of work to get done. So much work, we don’t have the luxury to play the “blame game”. We are direly needed in our homes, our women’s lives, our children’s lives and in our communities. We’ve been absent far too long and have allowed too many undesirable ideas to fester and grow. Our women, our children, even our mothers need us. Our nephews need us, our nieces need us. We need to unite and in order to do that we, the black men, need to wake up.

Change Tomorrow Today’s focus is building a bridge within our community to help bring enlightenment, understanding, love and most importantly togetherness. As we discuss difficult and sensitive topics, most of which has caused a rift between us, it’s our wish that we can come together and find solutions. Rather than bashing one another, we’d like you all to accept our differences and enter into dialogue. Change starts there.

What has become of our humanity? Have we evolved into emotionless animals? Have we entered into a place of no return? Our lack of empathy and love for one another is sickening. The most sacred thing on the planet should be our women and children yet we’ve managed to turn our backs on them. Men and women are feuding with the one another while our children are suffering from the consequences. Understanding the world has changed, possibly for the worse, it’s not so much the world that’s the problem but the people in it. We need to change tomorrow today before it’s too late!
