The party continues to investigate the owlbear den whose smell lured their horses off course. Ike uses his druidic power to speak with the beast and gains a short side quest to save the owlbear's lost mate. The party travels deeper into the forest in search of the lost library of Lethchauntos and instead finds three hunters looking to sell a recently captured owlbear. Our group devises a plan to save the creature, stop the poachers, and hopefully learn more about the very forest they're traveling through. Deep talks around the party's campsite led to deepening bonds and a short crisis of faith.

The party meets Myrna Nor, a wealthy heir and magic student, at the Old Skull Inn in Shadowdale. She hires the party for 100 GP each to recover the Nathlum before her rival, Powell "the Owl" Niccam, can sell its secrets to the Zhentarim.

The players return to Castle Ravenloft, this time without an invite, as they search for people and things that they need to recover before their final battle with Strahd.

Inside the castle they meet Cyrus, a mongrelfolk servant of Strahd who "escorts" them through the castle as they search for Zuleika's husband.

The party investigates the hidden lab trying to locate the means to create an antidote for this 'miraculous growth serum'. They then chase down Algar Gaunt and upon capturing him realize there is no chance of redemption. Val finds an interesting new weapon also hidden in the bunker before the party returns to Humble Hill with the cure in hand. Back at the Red Rock Tavern they debrief this mission and take some time to reckon with their emotions.

The party learns more about Algar Gaunt's 'Miraculous Growth Serum', exploring the damage it has done to a small village in the Tesh Valley, eventually tracking down his hidden laboratory attempting to apprehend the criminal and prove themselves useful in this new land.
