Harvey and Irma Schluter have been married for 75 years. Hurricane Irma has weakened slightly from its peak, record-setting winds, but it's expected to strengthen again. The Category 5 storm appears increasingly likely to rip into heavily populated south Florida early Sunday. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada won't be decriminalizing drugs such as heroin in the midst of a deadly overdose crisis.m A volunteer firefighter confronted a passenger of a truck stopped in a long line of vehicles because he saw the man toss a cigarette butt out the window.

Forecasters say the Category 5 hurricane Irma has top sustained winds of 175 mph (280 kph) and is expected to remain powerful for the next couple of days. Right now there all sorts of organizations doing humanitarian relief work in the countries that have and will be hit hardest by hurricane Irma.  One such organization is Oxfam.  Tania Escamilla is the Regional Communications Coordinator for Oxfam in the Caribbean is in Northern Haiti.  She talks to Charles about what it is like in Haiti tonight.

Hurricane Irma will almost certainly be more powerful and destructive than Andrew- a monster that hit Floridians a quarter century ago.
