The US is pushing the U-N Security Council to adopt its strongest diplomatic measures against North Korea. The death toll from Hurricane Harvey has increased.  Negotiators have run into trouble on nearly every major element considered key to achieving a new NAFTA agreement, according to sources.

A grizzly bear is fine after having been hit at over 100 kph by a car near Banff. A rare comic featuring the first appearance of Spider Man is up for sale in Victoria. Gareth Gaudin, who says he has been in the comic book business for the last 25 years, believes the Amazing Fantasy number 15 edition could sell for as much as one million dollars.

1. As Hurricane Harvey hit the U.S. this week, many turned to social media for help getting rescued.

2. One of the most poignant images that went viral was of a group of seniors in a care home in need of rescuing.

3. One of the big themes to come out of the storm however was how many inspiring acts of kindness and heroism occurred, many from strangers.

4. A woman who called for help during the storm meant to call Beaumont, Texas. But she called Beaumont Alberta.

5. An Edmonton woman issued a plea to help her sick grandfather in hospital and the Internet responded.
