Dine on Cal Cuisine at the place where Mrs. Doubtfire ate, in the heart of Danville at Bridges Restaurant & Bar. Host Leslie Sbrocco tasting wine. (Wendy Goodfriend)
My name is Leslie Sbrocco and I'm the host of Check, Please! Bay Area. Each week, I will be sharing my tasting notes about the wine, beer, and spirits the guests and I drank on set during the taping of the show. I will also share some wine tips with each episode. This week I discuss: What is Fumé Blanc?

2015 Kaiken Torrontés “Terroir Series” Salta, Argentina $16
Ready for a vinous adventure? Try Torrontés -- Argentina’s signature white wine. It’s uniquely aromatic with floral aromas and bright acidity and Kaiken is one of my top picks. Winemaker Aurelio Montes Jr. wine’s heritage is deep. Growing up in Chile’s famed Montes winery family, he crafts a version with class.

2015 Casillero del Diablo Rosé, Valle Central, Chile $11
A devilishly delicious pink. This dry-styled, shiraz-dominated rosé is a favorite of mine this season. Packed with fresh fruit notes and succulent brightness, it makes you want another glass (or two). With an appealing bottle design and a pleasing price, it’s a wine for spring, summer, winter and fall.

2014 Napa Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California $30
A classic Napa winery dating to the 1970s, Napa Cellars has been known for its lush, opulent styles of Chardonnay and Cabernet. Now owned by another Napa classic – the Trinchero family – winemaker Joe Shirley has carried on the tradition. Rich and full bodied with dark berry fruit, it’s a wine to serve alongside braised meat dishes.

2014 Meiomi Pinot Noir, Monterey/Sonoma/Santa Barbara Counties, California $23
This wine is on fire. A crowd-pleasing Pinot with juicy fruit flavors and a kiss of toasty oak, it’s a style that has proven wildly popular. Blending fruit from three of California’s top wine-growing counties, Meiomi is ideal as a cocktail hour sipper.
