Checkpoint episodes

September 12, 2025 Chatting to Andrew Reiner and Graeme Timmins of Gearbox about Borderlands 4
Victor from Checkpoint chats with Andrew Reiner (Global Creative Executive) and Graeme Timmins (Creative Director from Gearbox) all about Borderlands 4.
They discuss how the development team was put together and their experience, how the team decided to leave Pandora and how this impacted the story, and how Borderlands 4 builds upon the narrative legacy of previous instalments by evolving the tone and humour. The team chatted about new combat systems including skill trees, how the developers approached building a seamless world for the first time in Borderlands history, dynamic movement abilities, and, of course, guns, guns and more guns!
