In this video, I dive into how and when to start hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for menopause, with the goal of helping clinicians better understand how to recommend HRT to their patients and offering insights for patients dealing with menopausal symptoms. Menopause can bring a variety of challenging symptoms like brain fog, mood swings, and sleep disturbances, which can severely impact a woman’s daily life and relationships. I share a real-life case study of a patient who experienced anger issues and relationship difficulties, which we ultimately traced back to perimenopause and hormone depletion.
Throughout the episode, I explain the critical role hormones play in brain function and how HRT can not only address immediate symptoms but also help prevent long-term health issues such as bone fractures, Alzheimer’s, and cardiovascular disease. I also walk you through how to diagnose perimenopause, the importance of hormone testing, and how to optimize HRT treatment for your patients. While the results of HRT may take time, I encourage clinicians and patients alike to remain hopeful about the significant benefits.
For my fellow clinicians, this video is packed with valuable insights into HRT protocols and the long-term health benefits of hormone optimization, both for the immediate relief of symptoms and for promoting overall health and longevity.
