The Chicago White Sox lost their first game of postseason play in Game 3 of the ALDS to the Cleveland Guardians Wednesday night. The Sox still lead the series 2-1 with a chance to clinch on Friday at home. Chicago ran into some trouble with Bryan Hudson and Hagen Smith in the 4th inning, allowing 4 runs. The Sox got RBIs from Kyle Teel, Sam Antonacci and Tristan Peters, but it was not enough. The wheels completely fell off in the late innings as the Sox lost 9-3. In the ALDS, the Chicago White Sox have gone into Cleveland and taken BOTH games so far this series to move just one win away from an ALCS appearance! Today, the Sox fell behind 2-0 before storming all the way back. After the opener strategy backfired in the 1st, Sean Burke settled the pitching staff with 5.2 innings of 1-run ball with just 2 baserunners allowed. On offense, Munetaka Murakami laced an RBI single to make it 2-1. Braden Montgomery later put the Sox ahead with a 2-run double in the 6th. Chase Meidroth made it a 3-run inning with an RBI single to make it 4-2. Things got scary in the late innings after Grant Taylor allowed an inherited runner to score on an RBI triple by Jo Adell.
