“Mother Earth is The Source, not a resource.”
Our blessed elder Chief Looking Horse shares how he founded World Peace and Prayer Day and invites all of us to participate in the ceremony.
His grace, depth, and wisdom were quite humbling. May I suggest you find a quiet place in your heart and in your surroundings, and take a few moments to listen to this Great Soul.
Arvol Looking Horse is the 19th generation keeper of the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle. He holds the responsibility of spiritual leader among the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota People.
In addition, he holds an honorary Doctorate from the University of South Dakota and travels and speaks extensively on peace, environmental and native rights issues. He has been the recipient of several awards, including the Wolf Award of Canada, for his dedicated work for peace.
A skilled horseman, he shares his knowledge with the youth on long distance rides that take place in South Dakota throughout the year. In this interview, Chief Arvol Looking Horse speaks from his heart with Mitchell Rabin of A Better World about the prophecies and understandings of his people and how they can impact our earth. A very timely and sensitive interview from one of the greatest living teachers of Native American teachings.
