Going solo and trying to make it on your own is never an easy thing. You have to be vulnerable and let people into your music. You need to conquer feelings of uncomfortability to succeed. And you need to constantly keep working to make your dreams come true.

This artist is one that has been on the podcast 4 times before with the band GFM. But now, going solo, she returns to show you how she went solo, and what she had to conquer to make that happen.

Magdalene Rose joins the Chord Progression Podcast for the 5th time. Now solo, discover how far she has come as an artist as we discuss:

• How Maggie learned to go solo following GFM, and how she conquered fear and feeling uncomfortable to continue her musical journey.
• Why she has opened up more about her personal story in her music, and why being vulnerable with her story is one of the toughest things she has ever had to do.
• A deep dive into the song Teeth Eater, its ties to eating disorders, and how this song shows that Maggie practices what she preaches about in her music.

Magdalene Rose is the 3rd member of the 5 timers club here on the Chord Progression Podcast. Be sure not to miss out on her and many other great artists, so hit that subscribe button.

When a musician decides to move on from their band and start something completley new, it is scary. But there is a beauty in it for the artist, because now they have a blank canvas with no expectations to create with.

Now moving on from Bloodbather, this band is taking on a new challenge. Taking deathcore and horror, and creating their own stories off of it.

Salem from the deathcore band Crucifiction joins the Chord Progression Podcast. With the debut album, Will To Power, releasing on October 11th, discover this new band with us as we discuss:

• Why Salem left Bloodbather to create Crucifiction, and the blank canvas of creativity he now has with it.
• How Salem's love of horror inspired the project, and how his writing style takes the dark side of horror movies and implements them here.
• A look into the new album Will To Power, and how the song VHS was amplified with a feature from Darius of Spite.

Kevin's Final Thought; The Band Keeps Growing, Deservedly

The music industry is constantly evolving, and the past 5 years have seen some of the most drastic change in how bands market themselves, deliver their music, and are more likely to go independent. So how are record labels adapting to the times?

We have seen a trend of more bands going towards smaller labels to fill their needs. And what we discovered was that a people-first and relationship-first mindest is what driving bands to more independent record labels, not a "money-first" mindset.

Peter, the founder of Manic Kat Records, is our guest today on the Chord Progression Podcast. Get in the know with this man and this label on this episode as we discuss.

• The history of Manic Kat Records, and why it was started and allowed to thrive like so many other great bands, not being afraid of the unknown.
• What the selection process and criteria looks like for Manic Kat Records to select and sign bands.

How does a band go from reaching out to people on Reddit to market themselves, to signing with a great record label in 7 months time? The answer... ATTENTION TO DETAIL!

Whether it is the making of the music, the marketing of it, the live show, the social media game, whatever it may be, attention to detail in how you create your art and get people to know about it will reap great rewards.

Spizz and Koza from the metalcore band ADVENTS return to the Chord Progression Podcast for the second time in 2024, this time as a band signed to InVogue Records. On this epsidoe we dive into:

• The story of how Advents was spotted by & signed to InVogue Records, and why attention to detail is so important for other bands trying to follow suit.
• How the band now faces new challenges going from an independent band to singing with a record label, and why going all in on their music is the only option to continue this success.
• A look into the newest single Liminal, and how it encapsulates the band's overall writing process to be focused, but also worldly at the same time.

Bringing these guys back as a signed band made us happy! Don't miss out on discovering the next band to make this jump. Hit subscribe and be sure to discover the next great bands in rock and metal.
