Chord Progression Podcast: The Gateway to New Rock and Metal Music

Put yourselves in the shoes of a band releasing their sophomore album, trying to maintain the positive traction and reception of their sound from the debut album. Would you be excited, nervous, anxious, all of the above?

Now would your emotions change as people reacted to the singles saying "This band is SO good!" and "This band does not miss!" in online comments and forums? It would, and would solidify that your next album is going to be a hit.

Dylan from the heavy indie rock band Dead Poet Society joins the Chord Progression Podcast on the heels of the release of the bands newest album Fission. Today, we dive deep into:

• The fan reaction to the singles and how both Dylan and the band are trying to stay humble as fans say that "THEY DO NOT MISS!"
• A look into a few songs on Fission and the different types of experimentations that work with the band's sound, creating a solidly great album.
• Upcoming tours on this album, and why the band decided to take a series of different openers on their US tour.

The internet's favorite metalcore band has come back to the Chord Progression Podcast once again!

But why are they the internet's most favorite band? Is it because people love their music? Is it because they post the best memes and videos? Is it because they created a large community generating positivity to fans on a daily basis? The answer is... YES!

Tom Kiley from the band Patient Sixty-Seven returns to the Chord Progression Podcast once again. This episode is fantastic where we dive into:

• The positive fan community the band has create finally getting industry recognition, and how the inspiration all started with a conversation Tom had with Bad Omens frontman Noah Sebastian around 2017.
• Why the band couldn't make it to the US for Blue Ridge Rock Fest in 2023 due to visa issues, including the struggles artists have obtaining the visas, and when we could see the band tour outside of Australia.
• Submitted fan questions answered by Tom, including his dream collaboration, what bands inspired him, and the advice he would give newcomers that he had to learn the hard way.

Interviews like this will keep coming to get you into so many great bands for the present and future, so hit that subscribe button and never miss out on another great band again.

How important is album artwork, single artwork, or any artwork associated with music to you? Does the quality of the artwork impact your perception on the music? Or do you not put much weight on it?

As humans, visual art evokes many emotions that can sway our opinions, that that is why bands and artists put time and effort to picking the right artwork to represent their musical creation.

Al and Cody bring the metalcore band A Scent Like Wolves back to the Chord Progression Podcast for the first time in 3 years. With a brand new album "Distant Dystopia" releasing in February, we dive deep into

• The importance of visual artwork to a song or album, from the cover art to its music video visuals. And why bands who put more care into the artwork tend to release better music.
• Why the band puts more focus on a creative songwriting process compared to bowing to the demands of streaming service algorithms.
• How Distant Dystopia was created, and why the band view this as life's ultimate passion project.

More great new music to begin your 2024, so hit subscribe and never miss more great rock and metal music.

There is a band we have been following since mid-2020 that we have been waiting to break into the national touring scene. Waiting, wondering would it ever happen?

As we begin 2024, this band set themselves up to make this year that year, so now would be the perfect time to get behind the band before they come to a city near you.

Houston rock band Rozy returns to the Chord Progression Podcast for the 4th time. As 2024 is here, we prep you for the biggest year of Rozy so far by:

• Recapping 2023 and how the band was able to go viral thanks to a much larger focus on consistent social media presence, thanks to new member Aris.
• The opportunity Rozy is taking to play in front of major label execs, booking agents, and talent buyers in order to break out and tour on a national level.
• A look into the creation of the new Cry Baby EP, and the larger rock umbrella the EP falls under.

The biggest year (so far) for Rozy is 2024. Join them on this ride, and the ride of so many other great bands, by subscribing below.

Time is fickle to us humans. Over time, we lose our disillusionment and become content. We lose that wonder to discover new things, try new experiences, and chase our dreams because of responsibilities, paying bills, and feeling too old to change it. Artists are the same way.

Those that succeed creatively for a long time maintain that disillusionment, the want to discover new things, and maintain that angst to continue to grow and thrive. It is an effort to maintain that, but one that is worth it.

Andrew from Project 86 is BACK on the Chord Progression Podcast today. With the release of OMNI Part 2 due out on January 12th, we dive deep into:

• Why artists usually make their best music on their 2nd or 3rd album, and why it is important to not lose your disillusionment to keep discovering with angst.
• The drive to balance between not creating straight mainstream metal, but not being forced creatively into a box by the unwritten rules of the scene.
• Your personal rundown of OMNI Part 2 and it's 2 EPs in 1 format.

Most young bands call it quits when life and differing responsibilities enter the picture. And we get it, that happens. Now if you still have the drive to make your dreams happen, you would find a way to make them happen.

But a young band over 2,000 miles away from each other, with full time jobs and earring doctorates, would definitely give up right? WRONG!

After 3.5 years, 3 Exits to Hattiesburg returns to the Chord Progression Podcast, keeping their dreams in music alive. On this episode, we dive into:

• How the band stays together when members are 2,000 miles apart, along with the tips and tricks on making it work.
• The use of Chat GPT as a tool to complete more administrative tasks, like writing booking emails, successfully.
• Why printing your own merch as a young band might save you money, and allow you to create more memorable designs.
