The House on Wednesday passed a bipartisan bill that would force China-based ByteDance to sell TikTok or face a ban in the U.S. Ahead of the vote, House lawmakers met with intelligence officials on Tuesday for a classified briefing on the bill's national security concerns. Congress votes to either ban the social media app TikTOK or, at the least, force its developer to sell off the US version of the app out of national security concerns. What Congress isn’t saying, aside from broad proclamations that the Chinese Communist Party COULD do something, is how grievous the threat really is. Maybe the truth is, our lawmakers fear China is using Social media apps to influence Americans because that’s something WE are doing to them! It seems almost daily we are hit with a new TikTOK “Challenge” or a new observation that deserves it’s own trendy name and description. In truth, what’s old is new again and the new generation hasn’t discovered anything new... they discovered crap we’ve all known or been doing for hundreds of years.
